Michael Lira Excited To Participate In ARCA’s First Ever January Daytona Test Day

(Port Orange, FL) When the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards takes to the track on Friday, January 16th it will be the first time in series history for an open test in January at Daytona ahead of the race in February.
For Michael Lira, it will be his third time testing an ARCA Racing Series car at Daytona. After participating ARCA Racing’s test at the 2.5 mile tri-oval last month, the Port Orange, Florida driver is anxious to get back on the high banks.
Lira also participated in the ARCA open test days at Daytona in December 2013.
“Any time I can spend in the car on a superspeedway helps me build a solid foundation of experience,” Lira recently stated. “This January test will be an awesome opportunity to add to my track time and continue to work on my drafting skills.”
Despite all the testing, the seventeen year driver will not be able to race at Daytona until next year when he turns eighteen.
Once this test session is complete, Lira’s focus will be on his 16 race ARCA Series schedule. His first race of the season will be the ARCA-Mobile 200 at Mobile International Speedway on March 14th. He will look to pick up where he left off last year at the Alabama track when he started 14th and finished 9th.
