NTS Motorsports Unveils 2015 Driver Lineup; Fielding Full-Time Entries in NCWTS, NKNPSE and SRL

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (February 9, 2015) – NTS Motorsports unveils a robust lineup for 2015, fielding full-time vehicles in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) and SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour (SRL), in addition to a part-time NCWTS entry and select starts in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards (ARCA). Along with compiling a strong stable of drivers for 2015, NTS Motorsports has also added veteran team manager and West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame inductee Rick Carelli to serve as the team’s general manager. Chris Rice maintains his post as the organization’s director of competition, pulling double duty as one of the team’s NCWTS crew chiefs.

Headlining the NTS Motorsports lineup are 2013 Southern Super Series champion Daniel Hemric and 2012 NCWTS champion James Buescher, with Hemric competing full time and contending for 2015 Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors. A third part-time entry will make additional starts on the NCWTS tour, with Gray Gaulding confirmed for eight races and Scott Lagasse, Jr. behind the wheel for two events.

 

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

Hemric, who will pilot the No. 14 Chevrolet Silverado, has three previous NCWTS starts, one of which was fielded by NTS in 2014. The 24-year-old’s career highlights include championships in the Southern Super Series (2013), Legends Pro National (2008 & 2009), Legends Pro Summer Shootout (2012 & 2013), Blizzard Series (2013), JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour (2012) and a victory in the 2010 Legends Million at Charlotte Motor Speedway, winning $250,000, the largest paycheck in Legends car history. Hemric will also participate in three ARCA events in the No. 92 Chevrolet Impala, beginning with the season-opener in Daytona. Hemric will have crew chief Ryan McKinney calling the shots from atop the pit box in both his NCWTS and ARCA campaigns. California Clean Power will sponsor Hemric at Daytona International Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway, as well as in the Daytona ARCA event, with additional sponsorship announcements forthcoming.

Buescher, who will be behind the wheel of NTS Motorsports’ full-time No. 31 Silverado for select races, captured the NCWTS championship in 2012 on the strength of four wins, 10 top fives and 14 top 10s. As a competitor in the NCWTS since 2008, Buescher has amassed six wins and five poles in the series, collecting an impressive 31 top fives and 60 top 10s. The 24-year-old from Plano, Texas has also made 91 starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS), capturing his first-career victory at Daytona International Speedway in 2012. Veteran Chris Rice will lead Buescher and the No. 31 crew, serving as both crew chief and NTS Motorsports’ competition director. Buescher will have partners GunBroker.com and Great Clips on board his Silverado for his 2015 campaign.

In addition to its two full-time entries, NTS Motorsports will also field its No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado for several events in 2015. 16-year-old Gaulding will return to the No. 20 after competing in nine NCWTS events in 2014. The Colonial Heights, Virginia native’s best start (second) and best finish (fourth) both came in an impressive showing at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Gaulding, who will once again be sponsored by Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, is scheduled to compete in eight events. Lagasse, Jr. is scheduled to be behind the wheel of the No. 20 for the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway and the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 34-year-old from St. Augustine, Florida will be supported by the Florida Department of Transportation’s Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow initiative, in addition to the Boy Scouts of America. Veteran NCWTS crew chief Doug Howe will oversee both drivers from atop the pit box.

 

 

NASCAR K&N Pro Series East

NTS Motorsports will continue its participation in the NKNPSE in 2015 with one full-time entry. Gaulding will once again pilot the No. 20 Chevrolet SS with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts on board. This year will mark Gaulding’s third full-time season in the series. Over a total of 35 combined starts in the East and West, Gaulding has earned one win, nine top-five and 20 top-10 finishes, in addition to three pole awards. Doug Howe will serve as crew chief for the team’s NKNPSE effort.

 

 

SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour

Dedicated to developing the next generation of talented young drivers, NTS Motorsports continues to field entries in the West Coast-based SRL series. Oakdale, California native Blaine Rocha will be behind the wheel of the No. 21 entry. Rocha was a member of the 2013 Team USA in the Rotax World Finals. 17-year-old Parker Stevens will pilot the No. 28. Stevens was the 2014 Apple Cup champion, in addition to being South Sound Speedway’s 2012 rookie of the year, Young Lions champion and Semi-Pro champion. Finally, veteran Greg Voigt will return to the No. 29 for his second season. Voigt, a native of Goleta, California, has 55 previous SRL starts, tallying three wins, 23 top fives and 37 top-10 finishes. Director of competition, Gary Collins, will oversee NTS Motorsports SRL program.

The 2015 season kicks off for NTS Motorsports on Saturday, February 14 with the ARCA race at Daytona International Speedway. The Lucas Oil 200 presented by AutoZone will air live on FOX Sports 1 at 4:00 p.m. EST. The NKNPSE Hart to Heart Breast Cancer Foundation 150 at New Smyrna Speedway will be contested on Sunday, February 15 and air live at 7:30 p.m. EST on FansChoice.tv, then will air four days later on February 19 at 10:30 p.m. EST on NBCSN. The NCWTS season begins on Friday, February 20 with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway. The race will air live on FOX Sports 1 and MRN at 7:30 p.m. EST. The SRL Winter Showdown will take place on Saturday, February 28 at 5:00 p.m. PST.
