Biffle, Stenhouse Jr. Caught Up in Wreck-Filled Sprint Unlimited

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2015) – Both Greg Biffle and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were caught up in multiple accidents in a wreck-filled Sprint Unlimited All-Star race on Saturday night a Daytona International Speedway, settling for 14th and 16th-place finishes.

“It is crazy out there,” said Stenhouse Jr. “We were just trying to get runs and get to the front. It was tough to get to the front tonight. We had some good runs going there and it just snapped around. I don’t know. I know nobody got into me. I don’t know if we cut a right rear or what.

“Either way, we were crashed out but the Fastenal guys did a great job tonight getting the car back together after that red flag. We had some hood damage but it was still really fast and I feel good about the cars Roush Fenway has brought down here. We learned a lot out there tonight. We will go qualify tomorrow and try to get a good lap in. I feel really good about our Fastenal Ford.”

Biffle was claimed in a multi-car accident on lap 67 that sent his No. 16 Ortho Ford Fusion flying hard into the inside retaining wall.  Stenhouse was caught up in two separate accidents, the first coming on a multi-car accident on lap 47 that saw over half the field involved. The No. 17 Fastenal team was able to make repairs to the hood and return to the field. The second came when he apparently lost a tire on lap 62, sending his Ford Fusion into the wall and putting an early end to the team’s night. Biffle also sustained damage in that incident.

The teams return to action tomorrow for Daytona 500 Pole day. The qualifying session is set for 1:35 p.m. and will be televised live on FOX.  The first session will be divided into two groups, with three sessions determining the front row of next Sunday’s Great American Race, as well as the order of Thursday’s Duel Qualifying races.

Biffle and Trevor Bayne will be in the first session of Sunday’s qualifying, while Stenhouse will roll out with the second group.
