Roush Fenway at Atlanta

Roush Fenway has made 241 NASCAR starts at AMS, totaling 13 wins, 58 top fives, 106 top-10s and eight poles, while leading 3,153 laps and turning 95,171 miles. The team has made 170 NSCS starts at AMS, having won six times and leading 2,082 laps. On the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) front, Roush Fenway has won seven times in 46 starts, while leading close to 1,000 laps.

AMS/Roush Fenway History

Roush Fenway competed in its first NASCAR event at AMS on March 20, 1988, finishing 31st after getting involved in an early crash. However, just three years later the organization claimed its first win there in the fall of ‘91 with the No. 6 Ford. Roush Fenway won its first of seven NXS races at the track in the spring of ’97. Roush Fenway’s top outing at AMS came in the fall of 2005, when the organization placed four cars inside the top seven, with three cars finishing in the top five including race winner Carl Edwards. In fact, in the two races at AMS in 2005, Roush Fenway’s posted six top-five finishes and two wins.

Recent History

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s 2012 NXS victory at AMS was the team’s 13th total NASCAR victory at the track and its seventh in the NXS. Stenhouse captured his first career NSCS pole at AMS, leading a Roush Fenway one-two front row and marking the team’s eighth NASCAR pole at AMS. Greg Biffle earned his 10th top 10 finish at AMS last fall.

Spring Forward

All but one of Roush Fenway’s Sprint Cup wins at AMS came in the fall, with the only spring win coming in 2005. Three of RFR’s seven NXS wins came in the fall. The NASCAR series races only once in Atlanta this season.

Six Back

Roush Fenway’s No. 6 Ford has won twice at AMS and will make its first NSCS start at the 1.54-mile track since the 2011 season. Trevor Bayne will pilot the No. 6 full-time in the NSCS this season with AdvoCare on the car.

Winning Kick-Off

Roush Fenway kicked off its 2015 season with a strong one-two finish in the NXS opener in Daytona. The win marked the first of Ryan Reed’s career and the first win for Jack Roush in the NXS at Daytona.

19 and Counting

With his dramatic Daytona victory, Ryan Reed became the 19th driver to win a NASCAR race for Roush Fenway.

Record Extending Victory – 319

Reed’s win was also Roush Fenway’s record-extending 319th victory and its record-extending 134 victory in the NXS. Roush Fenway also has a series best 50 wins in the NASCAR Truck Series.
