Bayne Finishes 28th in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nev. (March 8, 2015) – Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, came home with a 28th-place finish on Sunday afternoon at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“We fought hard today,” said Bayne after the race. “The handling on our AdvoCare Ford kept changing throughout the race. (Crew chief) Bob (Osborne) and everyone on this team worked hard all race long to improve the handling of the car. But, Vegas is behind us now and it’s on to Phoenix. I’m ready.”

Bayne took the green flag for the 400-Mile event from the 35th position and was able to improve four positions to 31st as the field completed the opening lap. Bayne ultimately worked his way up to the 29th position just prior to the Lap 25 competition caution. Returning to the track in 30th, Bayne would report to Osborne that the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford was tight while racing in traffic.

The tight handling condition persisted as Bayne fell down a lap to the race leaders during the first long green flag run of the afternoon. Despite being down a lap, the Roush Fenway Racing driver maintained his composure and was able to work his way up to the 25th position following the first round of green flag pit stops on Lap 75.

Bayne would return to the track following the pit stop in the 29th position and immediately begin to fight a loose handling condition. With the loose handling condition worsening throughout the ensuing green flag run, Bayne would lose a second lap to the race leaders.

The driver of the AdvoCare Ford continued to battle a car with ever changing handling conditions throughout the remainder of the 267-lap event, ultimately taking the checkered flag in the 28th position.
