Brian Scott Finishes 20th at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Brian Scott and the Shore Lodge Chevrolet qualified in the third position for the NASCAR XFINITY Series Hisense 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the home track for the NASCAR industry. Scott quickly lined up behind Richard Childress Racing teammate and pole sitter Austin Dillon at the beginning of the 200-lap event. Initial reports about the No. 2 Chevrolet from Scott were tight-handling conditions. He raced in second place for the first 47 laps of competition when a caution flag was displayed for another competitor. A four-tire stop with an air pressure adjustment made Scott’s tight-handling conditions more severe as he fell to the 16th position before coming to pit road for service on lap 99. The Shore Lodge Chevrolet was brought back to pit road during the lap 109 caution to diagnose a mechanical issue in the left front. The team elected to change the left-front shock on pit road, resulting in them falling three laps short to the leader. Scott restarted on lap 117 in the 25th position. With 34 laps remaining, Scott moved into the 21st position and was able to gain one additional position before crossing the finish line in 20th.

Ty Dillon Finishes Seventh at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Qualifies for Dash4Cash
Ty Dillon drove Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 Bass Pro Shops/NWTF.org Chevrolet Camaro to a seventh-place finish Saturday afternoon in the Hisense 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, recording the team’s eighth top-10 finish of the season. Dillon, who qualified ninth earlier in the afternoon, struggled to gain positioning on restarts, but managed to make up ground on long green-flag stretches. For a majority of the 200-lap race, Dillon raced in and around the top 10. Several times he reported the car’s balance was tight while getting through the middle of the corners. Crew chief Danny Stockman called for track bar and wedge adjustments on each of the team’s five pit stops to improve the Camaro’s handling on restarts. Despite some of the struggles, the 23-year-old driver held his position until the final restart on lap 162 where he drove up to seventh place. He maintained his position for the final 38 laps and crossed the finish line seventh. Dillon was the fourth NASCAR XFINITY Series regular to finish, qualifying him for next week’s #Dash4Cash at Dover International Raceway and the $100,000 bonus. He remains second in the driver point standings, trailing the leader by only four points.

Austin Dillon Wins in Dominating Fashion at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Austin Dillon and the No. 33 Rheem team earned their second victory of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season Saturday afternoon at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Hisense 300. Dillon posted the fastest time in qualifying earlier in the day, earning his fourth pole award of the year with the Richard Childress Racing team. After the Welcome, N.C. driver took the green flag for the 200-lap affair, crew chief Nick Harrison made minimal air pressure adjustments during routine four and two-tire pit stops to alleviate a tight-handling Chevrolet. On the final restart of the race, Dillon was scored in the fourth position and worked his way into the second spot with less than 20 laps remaining. With 15 laps to go, the 25-year-old driver battled three wide for the lead before taking over the top spot. Saturday’s victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway marks the second time this season the No. 33 team has visited Victory Lane, with the first being at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Brendan Gaughan Finishes 18th at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Brendan Gaughan took the green flag for the NASCAR XFINITY Series Hisense 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the 17th position on Saturday afternoon. Gaughan began reported his No. 62 South Point Chevrolet was experiencing tight-handling conditions on lap 24. The Las Vegas native battled those conditions for a majority of the 200-lap event. On lap 106, Gaughan began to report he had a right-rear tire going down. The caution flag flew on lap 111 and the 39-year-old driver came down pit road to the attention of his RCR team. On lap 118, Gaughan restarted in the 19th position, one lap down, where he raced for the remainder of the event. The No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet crossed the finish line in the 18th position. Gaughan is currently 10th in the XFINITY Series driver point standings as the Series heads to Dover International Speedway.
