ENGINE TROUBLE PARKS GERHART

JOLIET, Ill. – Bobby Gerhart, filling a substitute role for the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team, experienced engine problems in Sunday’s Owens Corning AttiCat 300 at Chicagoland Speedway and finished 36th.Gerhart completed 69 of the race’s 200 laps before parking with engine troubles.

Gerhart drove the team’s No. 0 Chevrolet in place of regular driver Harrison Rhodes, who was filling in for Ross Chastain in the No. 4 Chevrolet. Landon Cassill missed the race, and Chastain was his replacement in the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 01.

“It was good to be back in the series,” said Gerhart, a veteran driver from Pennsylvania. “It wasn’t the kind of finish we wanted, but the car was a good one. Johnny (team owner Johnny Davis) and his guys do good work.”Erik Jones won the race, and Chris Buescher finished fifth, keeping the point lead. The race was delayed one day by rain.

The series races next at Daytona International Speedway July 4.
