INDIANAPOLIS – Ross Chastain finished 22nd Saturday in the Lilly Diabetes 250, his first race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Chastain ran behind the lead group for much of the race before finishing in mid-pack.

“It was special to race here,” Chastain said. “We had a pretty good car and could run some good laps, but we eventually couldn’t keep up with the lead bunch. A decent finish on a really hot day.”

Chastain stayed in 15th place in Xfinity Series points.

Sprint Cup star Kyle Busch won the race with a last-lap pass. Chris Buescher kept the point lead.

The series moves on to Iowa Speedway for an Aug. 1 race.
