ADVANCE NOTES

Sadler at Darlington

Elliott Sadler will make his 12th NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at Darlington Raceway this Saturday afternoon in Darlington, SC. In Sadler’s previous 11 NXS starts at Darlington, he’s recorded one pole award, four top-five and five top-10 finishes. Last year, Sadler started ninth and finished second.

The veteran driver from Emporia, Va. also has 18 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Darlington with one pole award, two top-five and four top-10 finishes.

Previous NASCAR XFINITY Series Race

Sadler finished 12th this past Saturday in the NXS race at Road America. Rain canceled qualifying and the starting order was decided from Friday’s first practice lap times. The No. 1 OneMain Financial crew made a mock qualifying run in first practice and Sadler started from the ninth position. With nine laps to go in the race, the caution flag came out and Sadler decided to come down pit road for fresh tires. Sadler restarted 19th and methodically passed seven cars in the closing four laps. Sadler drove his No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford across the finish line and finished 12th at Road America.

2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series Driver Point Standings

Following the NXS race at Road America, Sadler remains in fifth-place, in the NXS Driver Point Standings. After 23 races, Sadler is now 85 points behind the leader.

QUOTE WORTHY

“Darlington is a fun track to race at. You can almost guarantee that every car will have at least one scuff or one dent on it by the time the race is complete. As a fan, you have to love coming to Darlington. There have been so many great races and finishes that have taken place at “The Lady in Black”. Last year I finished second in the XFINITY race and hopefully we can one-up that finish this Saturday afternoon.”
