Dakoda Armstrong Focused on Points Race at Chicago

No. 43 WinField Team Looks to Repeat Strong Performance of Spring Race

An ill-timed caution during green-flag pit stops robbed the No. 43 WinField team of a great finish last week in Richmond. This week, Dakoda Armstrong heads to Chicagoland Speedway. During the spring race at Chicago, the team was on pace to have one of its strongest performances of the season before heavy contact from a competitor wrecked their otherwise good day. With the season winding down, the team is focused on putting together a streak of solid runs to climb back up the ladder in the Championship Standings. Currently, Armstrong sits 14th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship Point Standings, nine points outside of the 13th position.

Armstrong has a total of eight starts at the mile-and-a-half track in different racing series, including one ARCA Racing Series, three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and four XFINITY Series starts. In those eight starts, he has two Top-15 and six Top-20 finishes with a best finish of 11th in the 2010 ARCA race.

“We had a really good car in the spring. Unfortunately, we got wrecked and it ended our shot at a Top-10 finish. I really liked our setup. Now,we just need to adapt it to perform under night time conditions. The track has really weathered over the years. That extra wear makes it a really fun place to race. We have to make sure our car handles well over the bumps in Turn Three. These XFINITY cars like to slide around here. I think most drivers will tell you how much they enjoy the racing here. We’ve had good speed here. This race is a really good opportunity to make up some ground in the points. We just need to stay out of trouble to have a good night. ”
