JOEY LOGANO – No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion – “It’s a lot of fun qualifying here at Charlotte. You’re just on the gas so much and there’s so much grip when the sun goes down that you don’t really fall off in speed with the different runs for some reason, so it’s a lot of fun driving the Shell/Pennzoil Ford. We had a really good one and two, I thought, and just got a little bit tight in three and four and couldn’t quite continue to turn through the two-thirds point in the corner and the exit, so I felt like I lost some there. I don’t know if I had two-tenths there, so that’s the part I’ve got to look at a little bit deeper and try to figure out and work with our team, but, overall, we’re doing what we’ve got to do. We want to start first, obviously, but third is a good starting spot. We’ll have a good pit stall for that reason. Five hundred is a long time, but it’s still nice having a good starting spot here.”

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 Ortho Ford Fusion – IS THIS A CONTINUATION OF MAY HERE AT THIS TRACK? “I think so. We’ve been running really good here lately and we kind of brought the same setup back that we had here. I felt like I had a faster car than fourth. That’s disappointing, but we’re excited about starting up front here. I just wanted to be on the front row and we were really close. The car lost a little speed on exit down there, but we’re pretty happy with it.” ANYTHING YOU LEARNED FROM MAY THAT YOU CAN IMPROVE ON IN THE RACE THIS WEEKEND? “We’re gonna find that out tomorrow. We’re gonna try some stuff that we did here in May and then a few extra little things and see if we can build on what we had in May.”

ARIC ALMIROLA – No. 43 Smithfield Ford Fusion – “That’s really good. I’ve been telling everybody that I feel really good about where we’re at right now. We’ve got some speed in our race cars and the cars are driving good. Trent and all the guys on this 43 team and everybody back at Richard Petty Motorsports has been working really hard. Everybody in the whole garage does, but we’ve worked hard in year’s past and even the beginning of this year and we just can’t find the speed and can’t get the results. We’ve hit on something here the last month and it’s been showing up with some speed at the race track and it’s been racing good, so I’m excited about the rest of the weekend.”

RYAN BLANEY – No. 21 PPG Ford Fusion – “We’re in the race, so that’s good. After Chicago it’s at least good to know we’ll be driving on race day. It wasn’t what we were hoping for because we had a really good car in practice. Our first run wasn’t very good at all. We had an extra lap on the tires and that didn’t really help, but we just didn’t get enough there at the end to try to get in the top 12, but it’s just gonna be nice to be racing here Saturday night and be part of the show.”
