CASSILL HOPES TO CLOSE SEASON STRONG

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Landon Cassill is carrying a load of optimism into Saturday’s Xfinity Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Cassill will drive the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 01 Chevrolet sponsored by the Florida Lottery in Saturday’s Ford EcoBoost 300, the 33rd of 33 Xfinity events this season.

Cassill has run 13 races at the 1.5-mile Homestead track. Included in that total are eight Xfinity races. Cassill has a best Xfinity finish of sixth, in 2008.

“It’s been a pretty good year for us,” said Cassill, who also races in the Sprint Cup Series. “We want to end the year with a really good run at Homestead. It’s a track I really like, and we usually have good cars there. I’m looking forward to it.”

Cassill is 18th in Xfinity driver points.

Practice is scheduled Friday at Homestead at 1:30 p.m. (ET). Qualifying is set for 11:15 a.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 2:45 p.m.
