58th Annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway

News and Notes:
Heading into the 2016 season opening Daytona 500 the No.32 C&J Energy Services Go Fas Racing(GFR) team will head south to the “The Sunshine State” with 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Champion Bobby Labonte for the 58th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, FL.

Sunday’s Daytona 500 will mark Labonte’s 47th career start at the legendary 2.5-mile track, and his 726th career NSCS start. The Corpus Christi, TX native has earned six top-five finishes, 10 top-ten finishes and led 70 laps in NSCS competition.

Labonte will be pulling double duty during the 2016 Speedweeks, as he will compete in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series(NXS) event driving the familiar #18 for Joe Gibbs Racing. In eight NXS starts at Daytona, Labonte has a best finish of sixth with two top-ten finishes and 18 laps led.

Bobby Labonte on Daytona:
“I feel really good going into the 500 this year. The car we are bringing is brand new, and that adds some confidence to myself and the team. Our restrictor plate package hasn’t changed that much from last season, so we should unload pretty competitive.”

Chassis Info:
Crew Chief Wally Rogers will be bringing chassis GFR-830 to serve as the primary car. This chassis is brand new to Go Fas Racing. Chassis GFR-689 will serve as the backup car, which is the same chassis Labonte ran in the 2015 Daytona 500.
