ADVANCE NOTES

Wallace at Phoenix

Wallace will make his fourth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday afternoon.

Wallace has one top-10 in three career starts at the one-mile oval, an eighth in the Nov. 2015 event.

In 34 career NASCAR XFINITY Series starts on tracks between one and two miles in length, Wallace has recorded four top-fives and 14 top-10s, with a best finish of third at Chicagoland Speedway in Sept. 2015.

In two starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Phoenix, Wallace recorded a best finish of sixth in the Nov. 2014 event.

Recapping Texas

Wallace struggled to find grip for much of the NASCAR XFINITY Series event at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon before recording an 11th-place finish.

Seth Barbour at Phoenix

Barbour will call his seventh NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Phoenix. Barbour earned an eighth-place finish with Wallace in the Nov. 2015 event at the one-mile oval.

Chasing a Championship

The NASCAR XFINITY Series heads to Phoenix for the final race of the second round of the Chase.  Wallace enters this weekend’s race seventh on the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase Grid, 20 points out of the fourth and final cutoff position. At the completion of Saturday’s race, the bottom four drivers will be eliminated, leaving four drivers to compete for the Championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

QUOTE WORTHY

Wallace on racing at Phoenix:

“We know what we need to do with this Leidos Mustang this weekend in Phoenix. I’m not going to worry about the points situation. We just need to go out there and go after the win and then hopefully have a chance at that championship in Homestead. Either way we are going to have some fun this weekend and give it everything we have.”
