Josh Berry and the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane team return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend with confidence – and history – on their side. Earlier this season, Berry earned his first career NASCAR Cup Series victory at the 1.5-mile track, giving the Wood Brothers their 101st win in the process.
That breakthrough performance came in March’s Pennzoil 400, where Berry and the No. 21 Ford Mustang Dark Horse team showcased their resilience and speed. After an extra pit stop to tighten a loose wheel dropped him to 19th at the start of the final Stage, Berry methodically worked his way back through the field and outdueled Daniel Suárez in a 34-lap showdown to capture the checkered flag.
The win also marked Miles Stanley’s first triumph as crew chief and capped a dominant weekend for the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Mustang Dark Horse, which was among the fastest cars from start to finish. Berry started seventh, earned Stage points in both segments, and led 18 total laps, including the final 16 in a row, on his way to a 1.36-second margin of victory.
The performance locked Berry into the NASCAR Playoffs and secured at least a top-16 finish in the final standings, a great accomplishment in his first campaign with a new team.
“Going back to Las Vegas brings back a lot of great memories for our team,” Berry said. “Getting that first win there in the spring was a huge moment, and it really showed what we’re capable of when everything comes together. Since then, we’ve continued to make gains and build chemistry as a group, and hopefully we can carry that progress into this weekend and have another great run there.”
Practice for the South Point 400 kicks off Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying at 5:40 p.m. ET, both airing on truTV.
The 267-lap, 400.5-mile race takes the green flag Sunday at 5:30 p.m. ET with live coverage on USA Network. Stage breaks are scheduled for Laps 80 and 165.
