Wright Heads West with iHeartRadio at Phoenix
On The Road Again… Kris Wright and the No. 81 iHeartRadio team head to “The Valley of the Sun” for Round 22 of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) season. Wright is coming off a 25th-place finish last Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway and looks to improve in the Zero Carbon Bioethanol 150 at Phoenix Raceway. iHeartRadio returns to the No. 81 Chevrolet Silverado RST for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing (MHR) as the primary partner for the first time since Michigan International Speedway in June.
Dogleg Detail… The Pittsburgh, Pa., native will make his fifth career start at Phoenix this weekend across three NASCAR series. Wright started 20th in the 2021 NCTS race and finished 25th in his most recent appearance at the track last year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. MHR has found success in The Grand Canyon State, with teammate Christian Eckes winning in 2023 and former teammate Jake Garcia finishing second. The organization has recorded three podiums and five top-10 finishes at the one-mile oval, but Phoenix is special for MHR among other reasons. In 2018, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing made it’s first NCTS when Derek Kraus brought home the NAPA Auto Parts No. 19 entry in eighth place.
Season to Date… Four races remain in the 2026 NCTS season, as Wright sits 24th in the driver standings with six top-20 finishes to his credit. His season-best result came in June at Naval Base Coronado, where he finished 13th. Wright also recorded a 17th-place finish at Dover Motor Speedway and a 19th-place result at Rockingham Speedway.

Kris Wright Quote:
“It’s great to have iHeartRadio back on board as we head to Phoenix this weekend. It’s a unique track that can be challenging to figure out, but I’m looking forward to getting back in the No. 81 iHeartRadio Chevrolet Silverado RST and seeing what we can do. Hopefully, we can put together a strong weekend and bring home a solid result for everyone on the team.”
