No. 43 WinField Team Looks to Best Their Effort from Spring
Dakoda Armstrong has a two week long Top-15 streak heading into the Dover race weekend. The No. 43 WinField team has a fair to chance to extend the streak, as their effort in the spring race yielded a 14th place finish. With a good notebook and a driver with a background of racing on high speed, high banked ovals the team is confident they’ll have a strong performance. Currently, Armstrong sits 14th in the XFINITY Series Championship Point Standings.
Armstrong has five prior starts at Dover International Speedway in different racing series, with three starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and two in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Armstrong earned his track best finish of 14th in the spring XFINITY Series race earlier this year.
As an organization, RPM has seven starts at Dover and has never finished outside of the Top-20. The team’s best effort at the track came in the fall race of 2012 with a 3rd place finish.
“We have good momentum coming into this weekend. We’ve turned a corner in terms of our performance over the past couple weeks. We’ve learned some things that will translate well to the setup here. Dover is a fun but challenging track. This place is tough on both the cars and drivers. There’s some suspension parts you know you’ll throw away after the race. The tire falls off here very quickly. And the corners are very easy to over drive. You really have to pay attention and find a pace that keeps you in contention without wearing your car out. The track changes a lot when the rubber gets put down during the race. Making the correct adjustments throughout the day is key. If we can stay out of trouble and have quick pit stops, we’ll have a good day.”
