Wallace Finishes 11th in Dover

DOVER, Del. (Oct. 3, 2015) – Bubba Wallace, driver of the No. 6 Team Stream from Bleacher Report Ford Mustang, recorded an 11th-place finish on Saturday afternoon in the rain marred NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Dover International Speedway.

“We were pretty free there really throughout the day,” said Wallace after the race. “(Crew chief) Seth (Barbour) made some good strategy calls that helped us get track position with this No. 6 Ford. We’ll move on from today and look ahead to racing at home in Charlotte next weekend.”

Wallace took the green flag for the 200-lap event from the ninth position after rain canceled all practice and qualifying sessions on Friday afternoon, setting the field by points, per the NASCAR rulebook. Wallace maintained his track position throughout the early portion of the race before pitting during a Lap 23 competition caution for four tires and a chassis adjustment in the hopes of rectifying a loose handling condition.

The driver of the No. 6 Team Stream from Bleacher Report Ford returned to the track for the Lap 32 restart in 13th and continued to battle for position inside the top 15 until the second competition caution of the day came out on Lap 65. With rain looming overhead, crew chief Seth Barbour called for a two-tire change during the Lap 66 pit stop, sending Wallace back out onto the track in the second position.

After taking the Lap 70 restart from second, the fresher tires behind Wallace began to prevail, ultimately shuffling the Roush Fenway Racing driver back to ninth before the caution came out for rain on Lap 113. When the race resumed following the delay, Wallace returned to pit road for four tires and another chassis adjustment.

Wallace took the ensuing restart from the 13th position and consistently ran inside the top 15 for much of the remainder of the race.

In the closing stages, Wallace was able to improve three positions in the final laps to earn an 11th-place finish.

Next up for the NASCAR XFINITY Series is Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, Oct. 9.
