Jacob Companies Returns to the No. 9 Ford at Talladega

No. 9 Team Looking For Another Strong Finish at the Alabama Superspeedway

Jacob Companies will once again adorn the No. 9 Ford this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. The full-service general contractor made its first appearance with the team earlier this year at Sonoma Raceway, where Sam Hornish Jr. earned a 10th-place finish.

This weekend, Hornish will be making his eighth Sprint Cup Series start at Talladega. Earlier this year, he scored his first Top-10 finish of the season and his best series finish at the Superspeedway of sixth. Hornish also has four XFINITY Series starts at Talladega, accumulating one pole and one Top-Five finish.

Fans will have two chances to see Hornish around the track this weekend. He’ll be at the Ford Performance display in the Fan Zone from 9:10 to 9:25 a.m. and at the pre-race stage on the frontstretch for a Q&A session from 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.

“I’m excited to head back to Talladega. We finished sixth there earlier this year, and it’s no secret that RPM has a great Superspeedway program, so we have a really good chance for another good finish this weekend. There’s going to be a lot of different agendas, but as long as we stay out of trouble, I’m confident we’ll be right there competing for a win at the end of the race.

“We have Jacob Companies returning to the No. 9 Ford this weekend. They were with us in Sonoma and brought us some good luck. We’re hoping that good luck follows us to Talladega, and we bring home a strong finish.”

A performance and marketing driven company, Richard Petty Motorsports, co-owned by NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty and successful business entrepreneur Andrew Murstein, is one of the most recognized brands in all of motorsports. With a history of over 200 wins and business partnerships with national and global leaders, today the race operation fields two teams in competition in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Aric Almirola pilots the famous No. 43 Ford Fusion with primary partners Smithfield Foods, U.S. Air Force, STP and Fresh From Florida, and Sam Hornish Jr. drives the No. 9 machine with primary partners Medallion Bank and Twisted Tea. In addition, Dakoda Armstrong wheels the No. 43 WinField Ford Mustang full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. The team is headquartered in Mooresville, N.C.
