Reed at Auto Club Speedway
Reed has competed at Auto Club Speedway (ACS) twice in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. In this race last year, Reed finished 11thafter starting 12th. In 2014, he earned a 17th-place finish after starting 15th.
Reed in 2016
In the first four races of the 2016 NASCAR XFINITY Series season, Reed has recorded finishes of 16th – Daytona, 15th– Atlanta, 13th– Vegas, and 14th– Phoenix. His average start is 14.8 and average finish is 14.5. Reed is currently eighth in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship standings.

The No. 16 team finished 14th at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday after starting 13th and fighting a tight-handling racecar for much of the weekend.

“My first time at this track I felt like I struggled and then we came back last year and had a good finish, but our car was even better than the finish reflected. This place is so much fun – you are right up against the fence here and carry so much speed around this place. The track has aged so well and we see some of the best racing we’ve had in a long time. This is the toughest track we go to as far as working the seams – when you get out for that first lap in practice you forget how gnarly the seams are and are quickly reminded. It’s always fun to be home and see family and friends and the fact that we get to race here too makes it a great weekend.”
Homecoming
Reed’s hometown of Bakersfield, Calif. is located a little over two-and-a-half hours from ACS. Reed grew up attending races as a fan and watching his father race at the track.
The Car Chief on the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang, Dan Bormann, is also from The Golden State. Bormann hails from Shingle Springs, Calif., located in the northern part of the state.
The team’s Front Tire Carrier, Ryan McCray, also calls ACS his home track. McCray is from Highland, Calif., just 30 minutes from the track.
