TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY ANIMATED VIDEOS ON ‘BIG HOSS’ A HIT NOT ONLY WITH FANS BUT WITH FEATURED NASCAR DRIVERS AS WELL

  • Busch Brothers, Austin Dillon Star In Amusing Videos Featuring Scenes From Movie Classics The Blues Brothers and Austin Powers – International Man of Mystery
  • Verizon IndyCar Series Stars To Be Featured Next For June’s Firestone 600
FORT WORTH (April 27, 2016) – Texas Motor Speedway debuted a new line of animated videos on the world’s largest television known as “Big Hoss” during the recent Duck Commander 500 NASCAR doubleheader and the humorous spots not only were a hit with the fans but also with the Sprint Cup Series drivers that were featured.

Kyle and Kurt Busch, along with Austin Dillon, were featured in the videos that utilized “Head Over Body” animation using the drivers’ heads coupled with memorable scenes from popular movies. During NASCAR Media Day in February, the speedway video production team asked the drivers to make various facial expressions on camera and those were employed in the segments. The “Head Over Body” videos were produced by Dallas-based “The Well” Creative Productions.

Dillon was highlighted in the 50-second “Austin Dillon – International Man of Motorsports” video that featured scenes from the 1997 hit Austin Powers – International Man of Mystery starring Mike Myers. The Austin Dillon/Austin Powers tie was a natural and the segment features Austin’s head on Powers’ body for his “shag-a-delic” dance moves and his attempt to make a three-point turn with a golf cart in a confined area.
“It was really funny to look up at ‘Big Hoss’ and see the video,” Dillon said. “I remember filming with the production crew at Media Day in Daytona and making a bunch of silly faces at the camera for them. Just having fun in the middle of a long day. I guess I inspired a mini-Austin Powers video. I hope the fans enjoyed it. I know I did!”

Kurt and Kyle Busch co-starred in the 45-second episode called “The Busch Brothers,” where they played the roles of Jake and Elwood Blues from The Blues Brothers starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd in 1980. The segment features the two Sprint Cup champions in their hair-raising drive to get the money to the tax man on time as well as some of the epic dance moves of Jake and Elwood.

“I love the video,” Kurt said. “It was a lot of fun to see ‘Big Hoss TV’ utilized in that platform. Our fun, different things you see from drivers mixed in with what the fans want to see and to be animated and be on a videoboard like that, it fits perfect with our times.”
Stars of the Verizon IndyCar Series will be featured next during the June 9-11 Firestone 600 INDYCAR/NASCAR doubleheader. The weekend will be highlighted by the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rattlesnake 400 on Friday evening, June 10, and the Verizon IndyCar Series Firestone 600 on Saturday night, June 11.
“Ever since ‘Big Hoss’ was born, we’ve hoped to partner with TMS to bring our creative slant for in-venue entertainment to the most rabid fans in sports…so this partnership means everything to The Well,” said Cash Sirois, president of “The Well” Creative Productions. “We can’t wait to show what we’ve got planned next!”
Tickets for the Firestone 600 race weekend are available by visitingwww.texasmotorspeedway.com or by calling the ticket office at (817) 215-8500. The “INDYCAR Sights & Sounds 2-Pack” offers fans two tickets to the Firestone 600 along with a scanner rental and two ear sets for just $49.
