STEVE WALLACE / 5-HOUR ENERGY RACING NEWS AND NOTES: IOWA SPEEDWAY

· This Week’s 5 Hour Energy Toyota … Steve Wallace will pilot Rusty Wallace Racing chassis RWR-064 in Saturday night’s U.S. Cellular 250 presented by the Enlist Weed Control System at Iowa Speedway. Built new for the 2011 season, this Toyota Camry debuted at Texas Motor Speedway in May, where Wallace finished 17th. The Greensboro, N.C. native then raced it at Dover International Speedway, where he finished 16th, and Kentucky Speedway where he finished 21st. Most recently, Wallace raced this chassis to an 11th-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway last month.

· Through 21 Races … With 21 races of the 2011 season in the record books, Wallace has accumulated one top-five, three top 10 and nine top-15 finishes, an average starting position of 13.7 and an average finish of 16.9. Wallace has completed 97.5 percent of the laps contested (3,794 of 3,893) thus far.

· Get to the Points … Wallace is currently ranked eighth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings, 65 in arrears to seventh-place driver Kenny Wallace.

· Wallace at Iowa … In three previous Nationwide Series starts at Iowa Speedway, Wallace has recorded one top-10 finish and has completed 99.9 percent of the laps contested (749 of 750).

· Former Winner … While Wallace has not yet won at Iowa in Nationwide Series competition, he has visited Victory Lane there once before. Driving the No. 61 machine for Rusty Wallace Racing, Wallace won the inaugural ARCA Series race from the pole in 2006.

· Welcome Aboard … 5-Hour Energy Racing welcomes Fareway markets, Truck Country and Kum & Go as partners for this weekend’s race at Iowa Speedway.

· Last Time at LOR … Wallace appeared to be a contender over the first half of last year’s Nationwide Series event at LOR, but an ill-handling Toyota and a late-race miscue on pit road saw Wallace fall to 23rd with just 30 laps remaining. Wallace rallied, gaining 13 positions to claim the 10th position when the checkered flag waved.

· Last Time Out … Wallace and the 5-Hour Energy team had a strong showing in last Saturday night’s Kroger 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway, but an unavoidable incident with just 25 laps remaining ruined the 23-year-old driver’s chances of a top-10 finish.

· Rusty Wallace Racing at Iowa … In six previous NASCAR Nationwide starts at Iowa, Rusty Wallace Racing entries have earned one top-10 and three top-15 finishes dating back to the inaugural event on August 1, 2009

· Rusty Wallace Racing in 2011 … With 21 races completed in the 2011 season, Rusty Wallace Racing’s three NASCAR Nationwide Series entries have recorded a combined two top-five and nine top-10 finishes. Rusty Wallace Racing Toyotas have completed 8,256 of 8,602 laps attempted, and have been atop the leaderboard for 15 laps with drivers Michael Annett, Jason Bowles, David Reutimann and Steve Wallace.

· Walking For a Good Cause … Wallace will participate in the inaugural Iowa Speedway Foundation Track Walk on Saturday, August 6 beginning at 11 a.m. The Iowa Speedway Foundation contributes to charitable, religious and scientific causes and shows support to the community and those who need it. “I like racing at Iowa Speedway, it’s a great facility. We ran well there back in May, and I feel like we’ll be competitive again this time around. Iowa is a special place to me because I’ve won there before. It would make it even more special if we were able to pick up a win in the Nationwide Series.” – Steve Wallace on racing at Iowa Speedway
