In just three years, these events have raised more than $500,000 for various community programs and initiatives such as feeding Iredell County (NC) children through the Backpack Program, a special needs fund for children and their families at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina and building the Martin Truex Jr. Pediatric Care Center at Southern Ocean Medical Center in New Jersey.
The golf tournament will once again host 144 golfers on an 18-hole championship course capped by a seated gourmet dinner for 250 guests. A cocktail reception presented by McPeak Investment Group of Wells Fargo Advisors will precede the 19th Hole Dinner Celebration. During dinner guests will enjoy live entertainment, auctions and raffle prizes.
This year’s dinner will again include the presentation of the “Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Humanitarian of the Year Award.” Each year this award recognizes an outstanding citizen or organization who, through their time and talent, has exemplified the values of volunteerism and philanthropy to children in need.
Fans of all ages also have the opportunity to meet Truex at the 2nd Annual MTJF Fan Event on Sept. 28, 2011 at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin, NJ. Guests will be treated to an evening that includes dinner, entertainment, raffle prizes and auction items. The first 250 registrants will be given a wristband for a pre-event autograph session. This is an event the entire family can enjoy.
