* This Week’s Tundra…The No. 5 NTB/Service Central team and Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine will utilize TRD-058 in Saturday’s 94-lap NCWTS race at Talladega Superspeedway. TRD-058 is the only chassis that Bodine has ever raced for Germain Racing on the superspeedways of Talladega and Daytona, and it has been driven to Victory Lane on four separate occasions. Mike Hillman Jr. will once again be atop the pit box calling the shots for the defending series champion as this marks the 12th race of a collaborative effort between Germain Racing and Randy Moss Motorsports to field the No. 5 Tundra. Bodine has finished no worse than 13th in those 11 previous races, with an average finish of 8.7. Bodine is racing the NTB/Service Central paint scheme for the fourth time this season ( Kansas , Texas , Atlanta ).
· Track Stats… Bodine leads all active truck series drivers in top-fives (4), top-10s (4) and laps led (85) at Talladega Superspeedway. In 5 truck series starts at Talladega , Bodine is a two-time winner with one Pole Award. In addition to his NCWTS stats, Bodine has one pole at Talladega in NASCAR Nationwide Series competition.
· Closing the Gap…Bodine has not finished outside of the top four in the final truck series point standings since he began competing full-time in the series in 2005. With his fifth-place finish last weekend at Las Vegas , Bodine advanced one position to move into seventh place in the driver point standings and is now just 39 points out of the top four with four races remaining.
· Watch and Listen…The Coca-Cola 250 from Talladega Superspeedway will be broadcast live on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, on Saturday afternoon. SPEED kicks off its pre-race coverage at 3:30 p.m. EDT, and MRN Radio will begin its live broadcast at 3:45 p.m. EDT on Saturday, October 22. SPEED will also broadcast live coverage of qualifying on Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

Talladega is a thinking game… “It’s a chess match. It’s a thinking game. You’ve got to think way ahead, think about who you’re racing with, think about how you want to race…there are a lot of strategies involved. It’s a lot different than normal-type racing. You have to really think about what’s going on around you and plan each move. We hope we can make the right moves with the NTB/Service Central Tundra this week.”
It’s a Different Animal… “It doesn’t matter what track you’re coming from or going to, Talladega is a different animal. You have to take it for what it’s worth and treat it differently.”
Crew chiefs always say the race truck is in driver’s hands once race begins. What can your pit crew do for you? “The biggest impact the pit crew has once the race begins is making good stops. The crew can make some adjustments, but, it’s true, there’s not a lot that can be done to change the handling once the driver and crew chief decide on a setup for the truck for the race. Good pit stops are critical. You can work your way back to the front, it just takes time to get there and it puts you in another whole situation of risks driving from the back to the front.”
