Faith and Freedom Coalition Targets Voters with FAS Lane Racing Sponsorship

[media-credit name=”FASLaneRacing.com” align=”alignright” width=”182″][/media-credit]RICHMOND, VA. (April 27, 2012) – FAS Lane Racing is proud to announce that The Faith and Freedom Coalition (FFC) will sponsor the team’s No. 32 Ford driven by Reed Sorenson in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race this Saturday, April 28th, at Richmond International Raceway.  FFC is believed to be the first pro-family organization to sponsor a car in a NASCAR race. The Faith and Freedom name and logo will appear prominently on the FAS Lane Racing entry along with texting information and the message: “Register to Vote”.

“We welcome the opportunity to represent FFC within NASCAR and reach out to NASCAR voters nationwide,” stated FAS Lane Racing team owner Frank Stoddard. “NASCAR is such a powerful arena for programs such as this and it is a privilege that FFC has chosen our race team as the vehicle to drive their message to millions.  Saturday night racing at Richmond is always a big draw and we look to put on a good show with the No. 32 Faith and Freedom Coalition Ford and Reed Sorenson.”

FFC volunteers will make  voter registration forms and voter guides available to the crowd of 150,000, while 6 million NASCAR fans watching at home will be asked to text FFC to receive updates on how they can become involved in registering and turning out conservative and evangelical voters. The Richmond blitz is part of a nationwide “Champion the Vote” campaign by the Faith and Freedom Coalition with a goal of registering 2 million new voters and directly contacting a total of 37 million voters prior to the November election.

“There are an estimated 75 million NASCAR fans, many of whom live in battleground states like Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida,” observed Ralph Reed, chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition. “This vote has significant overlap with the evangelical and Tea Party vote.  An estimated 20 percent of NASCAR fans are not registered to vote.  They tend to be pro-family, patriotic, and conservative in their values.  Sponsoring this car is part of our strategy to insure that every conservative and faith-based voter in America is registered to vote and goes to the polls in 2012.”

The running of the Capital City 400 will air nationwide on FOX from Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, April 28th with coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST.

About FAS Lane Racing:  FAS Lane Racing was established in 2011 when Frank Stoddard’s old team, Latitude 43 Motorsports, closed its doors. Stoddard formed his own team with the remaining crew members and purchased the cars and equipment from Roush Racing. Stoddard chose the No. 32 in tribute to his racing mentor Stub Fadden, who was a Busch North Series racer from New England who used the number 16, hence 16 x 2 = 32.  FAS Lane Racing used a variety of drivers to secure a position in the Top 35 in owner’s points thus ensuring them a guaranteed starting spot heading into the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.
