Ron Hornaday
No. 9 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet
Fast & Fun Facts…
Ron Hornaday is one of only two active NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) drivers that have been to victory lane at Dover International Speedway. Eye In the Sky…Ted Musgrave, the 2005 NCWTS Champion will serve as Hornaday’s spotter for Dover. Musgrave was a 2002 winner at the 1-mile oval. Hornaday has completed 100 percent of laps attempted in 2012 (1116 of 1116) and has improved his finishing position in each of the series’ first five events.
Welcome Back… Anderson’s Maple Syrup is back on board with Ron Hornaday and the Joe Denette Motorsports team at Dover. The Cumberland, Wisconsin company was last seen in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway and will adorn the sides of the No. 9 Chevrolet in select NCWTS events throughout the 2012 season. Anderson’s Maple Syrup provides families with a pure, all-natural, and healthy alternative to artificial “maple-flavored” syrups. Visit PureMapleUSA.com to find out why other families are choosing pure maple syrup from Anderson’s.
Dover Details… In seven NCWTS starts at Dover, Hornaday has one pole, one win, three top-five and five top-10 finishes. The four-time series champion has led 275 laps with an average start of 6.1 and an average finish of 8.9 and has completed 88.8 percent of laps attempted (1247 of 1404). In 2011, Hornaday started fourth and finished ninth.
This Week’s No. 9 Chevrolet… Hornaday will pilot chassis No. 06 in the 13th Annual Lucas Oil 200 at Dover. This is the same Joe Denette Motorsports chassis that Hornaday piloted to a sixth-place finish at Kansas Speedway in April and a fifth-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.
In The Loop… According to NASCAR’s loop data statistics, Hornaday has the following stats at Dover:
· Hornaday has a driver rating of 112.6
· Fifth among average running position (7.998)
· First among fastest laps run with 110
· First among laps in the top-15 with 1182
· First among laps led with 275
Rearview Mirror-Charlotte… Making his eighth start at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Hornaday conserved fuel to finish fifth in the N.C. Education Lottery 200. The strong finish was Hornaday’s sixth top-five finish at the 1.5-mile quad-oval and his first top-five finish of the 2012 season.
Get to the Point… After capturing his first top-five finish of the 2012 season at Charlotte, Hornaday is up to sixth in the 2012 NCWTS point standings, a mere one point outside the top-five and 31 points behind series point leader, Justin Lofton.
Drive For Autism… For the sixth consecutive year, Dover International Speedway has teamed up with Autism Speaks to create awareness and raise funds for the cause. Joe Denette Motorsports, along with other NASCAR teams in all three series, will carry the Autism Speaks blue puzzle piece logo as a sign of support for the nation’s leading autism science and advocacy organization.
A Penny For Your Thoughts…
From the driver, Ron Hornaday… “Dover, being a concrete track, is challenging because of the way that you have to run around that place; the way tires wear out, the way the rubber gets put down there. You’ve got to be fast through the corner. Two-thirds of your lap time is through the turn rather than down the straightaway, so you definitely have to make sure that you have a good handling truck; one that’s good in the beginning of the run on low air pressure and one that’s good at the end of the run on high air pressure. It’s a place where track position and pit stops are crucial to your success at the end of the day. I’m confident that we will unload with a great package and be able to start and stay up front Friday night. We have been improving every week and last weekend we broke the barrier into the top-five. Dover has been a strong track for me in the past and I feel like it’s just a matter of time before this team gets its first victory.”
From the crew chief, Jeff Hensley… “I really like Dover. It’s a track that I look forward to. I have sat on the pole twice with Mike Skinner and won the race with Brian Scott in 2009. The two things you are going to concentrate on at Dover is fuel and tires. I’ve seen this race go green for 150 laps and people are running out of gas. The drivers get comfortable and just race the track, so going green for a long time isn’t unusual. Pit stops will be critical and I’m sure pit strategy will play a key role; it’s not uncommon to see a lot of teams take two tires on their last stop because track position is so important.”
Hornaday’s NCWTS Stats:
Starts: 305
Top-5: 147
Top-10: 210
Poles: 27
Wins: 51
Laps Led: 9,530
Average Start:8.3
Average Finish: 9.3
Laps: 49,274

Max Gresham
No. 24 Made In USA Brand Chevrolet
Fast & Fun Facts:
Although Max Gresham has two starts at Dover International Speedway in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, the 19-year-old rookie will make his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the “Monster Mile” in Friday night’s Lucas Oil 200.
This Week’s No. 24 Made In USA Brand Chevrolet… The No. 24 Made In USA Brand team will unload chassis No. 04 for this weekend’s Lucas Oil 200 at Dover International Speedway. This is the same Joe Denette Motorsports chassis that Gresham piloted to a 19th-place finish at Martinsville Speedway in March and an 18th-place finish at Rockingham Speedway in April. This is also the same chassis that the No. 24 team took to the Nashville Superspeedway test earlier last month.
Dover Details… As a rookie in the NCWTS, Max Gresham will make his debut at numerous tracks in 2012. Dover International Speedway, however, is one of the few exceptions. The 19-year-old driver has two starts at the “Monster Mile” in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East as follows:
(2010) Started on the pole and led 84 laps en route to an 18th-place finish due to an engine failure (2011) Started second and led 39 laps en route to a third-place finish
Gresham has an average start of 1.5 an average finish of 10.5 and has completed 98.7 percent of laps attempted (303 of 307) at Dover.
Honorary Crew Member… The No. 24 Made In USA Brand team will host United States Navy Hospital Corpsman/Marine, Charles Feuker as an Honorary Crew Member this weekend. Feuker was a member of the U.S. Navy from December 1, 2004 to November 30, 2009. Feuker served in Karmah, Iraq, considered one of the most dangerous places in Iraq, as a hospital corpsman.
Rookie Race… Gresham is currently sixth in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings with 29 points, a mere four points out of fifth. Leading the charge after Charlotte is Ty Dillon.
Gresham’s NCWTS Stats:
Starts: 3 (2011)
5 (2012)
Laps: 1177
Average Start: 24.8
Average Finish: 23.8
Rearview Mirror-Charlotte… After starting 23rd in the N.C. Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Gresham made a charge to the front of the 36-truck field in the early laps. However, a flat right front tire forced the Griffin, Georgia native into the wall on lap 66 of 134 which ultimately left the rookie mired three laps down to the field and relegated the No. 24 BugBand Chevrolet to a 22nd-place finish.
Get to the Points… Gresham is currently 19th in the 2012 NCWTS driver point standings, just 13 points outside the top-15.
A Penny For Your Thoughts…
From the driver, Max Gresham… “I’m excited to get back to a track I’ve raced at in the past and have had success at. I feel like I will be one step ahead when we unload this week because I won’t have to concentrate on making laps to learn the track; we can just work on getting the truck dialed-in. The Monster and I have a love/hate relationship; I love it and it hates me. My first race there, I started on the pole and led more than half the race before my engine expired. I feel like Dover owes me one and I can’t wait to get back there this weekend.”
From the crew chief, Terry “Richie” Snyder… “I like Dover, it’s a neat track. I would consider it a really big Bristol. It’s fast and you have to race the track. With it being a concrete track the racing surface is rough and you will see a lot of tire wear. I’ve never won there, but I’ve always run well there. I learned a lot on the seven-post last week and I believe it will help us a lot this weekend. Max has experience here and he’s been successful here so it will help that he knows what it takes to get around here.”
