Qualifying for the Irwin Tools Night Race was rained out and the starting lineup determined by speeds from today’s first practice session. Dodge driver Brad Keselowski will start second while Sam Hornish Jr. lines up 29th.

Brad Keselowski (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger R/T) STARTING UP FRONT AND GETTING A GOOD PIT SELECTION IS IMPORTANT HERE AT BRISTOL. “Yeah, absolutely. You know Bristol is always about track position but I have had cars here in the past where you could pass and get your way up to the front. I’m not going to complain either way (smiles). I’m just happy to have a fast race car and I think the Miller Lite Dodge is another fast race car coming to Bristol. I feel so lucky to have those ‘cause I’ve experienced the other way around so I’m glad to have an opportunity at it. Certainly there is a lot of strength in the field for Saturday night and I think obviously Greg (Biffle) is one of ‘em. Certainly Casey (Mears) was very fast in practice and we’ll see how it all shakes out. It’s good to see Casey win the pole. We were really close and I wanted it but you know it’s one of those deals we were maybe saving a little bit more for qualifying and never got a shot at it. That’s racing and you get your good breaks and your bad breaks and who knows, maybe we would have gone out and qualified 20th. Maybe this was a good break. It’s hard to say but we’ll take it and move on and focus on the race Saturday night.”

WHATEVER THE TRICK IS THAT SOME GUYS ARE USING, ARE YOU NOW USING IT NOW THAT NASCAR SAYS IT IS OKAY? DOES IT WORK AS WELL ON A SHORT TRACK AS IT DOES INDIANAPOLIS AND MICHIGAN? “Tricks are for kids. Maybe. Do you think we are? We’ll find out or maybe we won’t, I don’t know. I’ve saw a couple cars with some of that stuff going on and you never know until you see it in action, much like the racing here at Bristol this weekend and the changes in the track. I think Tony (Stewart) said lap 236. I kind of disagree; I think about lap 250, about then we’ll have a good idea.”
