Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 12 Detroit Genuine Parts Dodge Challenger) Finished 10th “We were just a little off on our set-up tonight. The Detroit Genuine Parts crew worked on it throughout the race, but we just didn’t get a handle on it. We gave it our best though and managed to bring home a top-10 finish. I was hoping to do a little better than that, but hopefully we learned something. We will regroup this week and head to Atlanta next weekend.”

Chad Walter (Crew Chief, No. 12 Detroit Genuine Parts Dodge Challenger) “We’ve had a real good run through the summer with our Dodge Challenger and all the sponsors that make us go. And this was one that we kind of knew that was going to be a tough one. It’s not our style of racetrack and we just didn’t quite have it all night long. Man, it was real tough to go on the bottom. The restarts were tough. It seemed like every time we had a restart we were 11th or we were seventh or we were ninth and it’ll frustrate you.

“But here’s the good news: it’s over and we’re going to Atlanta and Sam really enjoys that racetrack. Then we go on to Richmond and we’ve run up in the top five there and put ourselves in position to win there earlier this year. I really feel good about the tracks that we have coming up. We knew this was going to be a tough day. We finished better tonight that we did here in the spring and did the best we could with what we had. The crew chief has got to go back to work and make sure that we’re doing what we need to do to get back in this championship chase.”

HOW BIG OF A FACTOR WAS THE RAIN THAT WASHED THE TRACK CLEAN BEFORE THE START OF THE RACE TONIGHT? “I don’t think it was a factor. I don’t know that we were any better than where we would have been whether it had rained or whether it was sunny all day. The competition caution, you know the 18 (Joey Logano) played a different strategy but in brutal honesty the 18 was a better racecar and could do that. Bristol is done and we’ve got to get on to Atlanta and on to Richmond and on to Chicago and get ourselves back in the right frame of mind to win a championship.”

Brad Keselowski (No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger) Finished 32nd WHAT HAPPENED? “I’m not really sure. I haven’t seen a reply yet. Obviously I got hit in the left-rear. I don’t know if that was my fault or not but I’ll watch the replay and try to understand it. Bristol is not the place to be driving a damaged car. There’s not any place where you want to have that and this sure as hell isn’t one of them. It’s just one of those deals.”
