Sweeping Up
Matt Kenseth and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s duel victories last weekend gave RFR the weekend sweep at Kansas. The wins were Kenseth’s third and Stenhouse’s sixth of the 2012 season. The wins were also the record-extending 310th and 311th NASCAR wins of the organization’s storied history.
Roush Fenway at Martinsville
In 173 Cup starts at Martinsville, Roush Fenway has turned more laps there than any other venue in the Sprint Cup Series, with 83,526 laps completed. During that span, Roush Fenway has collected four wins, four poles, 26 top-five and 61 top-10 finishes. All-in-all Roush Fenway carries a 17.0 career average finish to Martinsville this weekend.
Winning Formula
Roush Fenway has won four Sprint Cup races at Martinsville, with three different drivers. However, the team has not visited victory lane at the track since the fall of 2002. Roush Fenway also boasts two truck wins in 46 starts at Martinsville (fall of ’03 and ’05).
Looking Back
Roush Fenway had its overall most-successful outing at Martinsville in the spring of 2002 when it placed all four of its cars inside the top 10. In addition, RFR posted a one-two finish at the track in the spring of 2000. Ironically, Roush Fenway has not placed more than one car inside the top five at Martinsville since that finish in 2000.
Stenhouse Closes Lead to 6
With his come-from-behind victory at Kansas, Ricky Stenhouse cut the Nationwide Series lead to only six points. With three races remaining in the season, Stenhouse currently sits at second in his quest to repeat as NNS Champion.
RFR Celebrates “25 Winning Years”
Roush Fenway celebrates “25 Winning Years” in 2012. During that span, RFR has accumulated the most wins in NASCAR history with 311, and is the all-time race winner in both the Nationwide and Truck Series. During the season the team will highlight the performance, people, innovation and partners that have been the cornerstone of its performance.
