Burton Family Feature…Tune in to ‘NCWTS Setup’ on SPEED at 1:00 p.m. EDT to catch up with the entire Burton family for a sit-down interview at their home in Halifax, Virginia. Rockingham Speedway is a favorite track of the Burton clan, as father Ward Burton captured his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory in the 1995 AC Delco 400 at the famed North Carolina track. A year ago, Jeb Burton brought home an 11th-place finish in his first and only start at the one-mile oval.
Last Race Recap…Less than a week ago Burton opened eyes and turned heads at Martinsville Speedway. After dominating the weekend’s only NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) practice session, the 20-year-old went on to claim his first career pole award, as well as the track qualifying record. After leading 154 laps and earning valuable bonus points, Burton and the No. 4 Arrowhead team brought home a third-place finish, a career best for the Rookie of the Year contender.
Eyes in the Cockpit…Be closer to the action with the No. 4 Arrowhead team during the SPEED broadcast as their Chevy Silverado is equipped with an on-board camera for 200 laps around Rockingham Speedway.
This Week’s Silverado…Under the direction of veteran crew chief Mike Hillman Jr., the No. 4 team will utilize chassis TSM-211 this weekend at Rockingham Speedway. This truck is a powerhouse for Turner Scott Motorsports, having made laps in 2012 at Martinsville Speedway, Iowa Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.
Say Hello…Burton will be joining the rest of the NCWTS field for an autograph session outside the main ticket office on Saturday morning starting at 10:15 a.m. EDT.
Watch and Listen…The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at The Rock presented by Cheerwine can be seen live on Saturday, April 6 on SPEED. Race coverage will begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.
Jeb Burton on his Second Start at Rockingham Speedway
“Last weekend was a dream come true for me. Even though I wish I went home with the win, I’m focused on the bigger picture and it was a great points race for my entire team. My dad has a few trophies from Rockingham and I would love to add to that collection. My team and I are equally determined to make this dream a reality.”

Kyle Larson
No. 30 Autism Speaks Chevrolet Silverado
Rockingham Speedway – NC Education Lottery 200 at The Rock
April 14, 2013
First 2013 NCWTS Start…Kyle Larson, a 20-year-old NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) regular and Rookie-of-the-Year contender, will make his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start of the season behind the wheel of the No. 30 Autism Speaks Chevrolet Silverado for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) at Rockingham Speedway on Sunday. In just four previous career NCTWS starts, Larson has collected three top-10 finishes, including a runner-up designation, and led over 90 laps.
Larson will race in the O’Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday night in his No. 32 Chevy Camaro and travel immediately following that event to Rockingham for NCWTS practice the following day. Larson’s NNS crew chief, Trent Owens, will also make the trip from Texas to Rockingham and call the race on Sunday afternoon. This weekend will mark Larson’s first “Double Duty” attempt in NASCAR’s top-three series.
Autism Speaks…To bring attention to Autism Awareness Month, TSM has designed a special paint scheme for the No. 30 Silverado to honor Autism Speaks. Larson’s machine will feature the signature Autism Speaks blue puzzle pieces, and the name of five-year-old Gray Owens, who is affected by Autism and is the son of crew chief Trent Owens, will be placed above the passenger-side door.
“We are grateful to Turner Scott Motorsports for its commitment to our cause and will be cheering on Kyle Larson as he raises awareness in the No. 30 Autism Speaks Chevy Silverado,” said Alec Elbert, Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Autism Speaks. “The efforts of our friends at Turner Scott Motorsports to honor Gray Owens exemplify the NASCAR community’s ongoing support of the one in 88 families affected by Autism.”
Championship Memories…Larson’s last visit to Rockingham Speedway in November 2012 produced one of his most memoriable racing experiences to date. Entering the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season finale in a heated battle for the championship title, Larson ran a competitive race and put himself in position in the final laps. Larson was able to score a sixth place finish that day and hoist the championship trophy.
This Week’s Silverado…Crew chief Trent Owens and the No. 30 Autism Speaks Chevy team have prepared chassis TSM-218 for competition at Rockingham Speedway. This specific Silverado helped Nelson Piquet Jr. capture three pole awards in 2012, along with a victory at Michigan International Speedway.
Trent Owens on Rockingham Speedway
“Based on what I’ve seen so far this season with Kyle, I think Rockingham will suit his driving style really well. I’m really excited about this race especially because last year all of the Turner Scott Motorsports trucks were really fast and won the race. So it’s really going to be a lot of fun for us to just come in knowing that we have a lot of good notes to start with. Rockingham is special to me too because I grew up watching a lot of races there as a kid, and this will be my first time actually crew chiefing a race there.”
Kyle Larson on Rockingham Speedway
“I’ve actually done a lot of testing there for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing in the Sprint Cup Series cars, so I have a lot of laps around Rockingham Speedway, and I’m pretty familiar with it. I think all of that track time will definitely help us get the Autism Speaks Silverado dialed in faster on Saturday during practice, and I had solid run here in the K&N East Pro Series last fall when we captured the championship. I have a lot of good memories at Rockingham, and I really hope we can keep that going and have a good run for Autism Speaks. It’s special to be able to honor Trent Owens’ son Gray on the passenger side as well, and hopefully we can get a win for him and Autism Speaks.”

April 14, 2013
Martinsville Recap…After working their way up from a 20th-place starting position to race much of the Kroger 250 inside the top five, James Buescher and the No. 31 Rheem Chevy slipped back in the pack during a late race green-flag run. Buescher patiently picked his way through the field throughout the 250-lap race and looked like a threat for the victory on Saturday afternoon at Martinsville Speedway. During a late race green-flag stretch, Buescher, who was on older tires than most of the field, got caught up on the outside groove and slipped back and finished in 14th place at Martinsville Speedway.
Like a Rock…During NASCAR’s historic return to Rockingham Speedway last spring, Buescher and the No. 31 Turner Scott Motorsports team battled teammate, Kasey Kahne.teammate down to the end and came home with a solid second-place finish. The chassis has a best finish of eighth, which Paludo earned at the fall event at Kentucky Speedway.
Meet Miguel…Come meet Paludo and the rest of the Turner Scott Motorsports drivers at the NCWTS autograph session on Saturday, April 13th from 10:15-11:00 a.m. EDT. The session will take place by the rock located in front of the main ticket office.

Previous Race Recap…Paludo was on his way to a strong finish in the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway, running in the top 10 for nearly the entire event and occupying the top five for much of the second half of the race, but a wild final restart marred the Brazilian’s stellar run, resulting in a 17th-place finish for the No. 32 SEM Products, Inc. Chevrolet.
Miguel Paludo on driving at Rockingham Speedway
“Last year was obviously our first race ever at Rockingham Speedway, so we struggled a bit to zero in on our truck, but our team has made so much progress since then. The chassis we’re bringing with us was our ‘go-to’ truck last season on the intermediate tracks, and we’ve learned a lot about it and made many improvements to it. Turner Scott Motorsports as a whole was very successful last year in Rockingham, so we feel very prepared going into the race. The No. 32 team has been fantastic this year. I have no doubt we can go to The Rock and win it.”
