- This Week’s SchoolTipline.com Toyota … Alex Bowman will pilot RAB Racing Chassis No. 044 in the CNBC Prime the Profit 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This chassis last saw action at Dover International Speedway in June when Bowman secured the fourth-place starting position and drove this Toyota Camry to a 17th-place finish.
- I’ve Been Here … Though this will be Bowman’s first ever Nationwide Series start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, he has raced here before in K&N Pro Series East competition. In 2011’s running of the New England 125, Bowman finished sixth.
- RAB Racing at Loudon … In four NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, RAB Racing entries have earned one top-10 finish and led five laps with driver Kenny Wallace.
- Chris Rice at Loudon… Crew chief of the No. 99 Toyota Camry Chris Rice has sat atop the pit box at New Hampshire Motor Speedway four times in his Nationwide Series career, notching one top-five and two top-10 finishes, as well as 17 laps led.
- Get to the Points …As we hit the halfway mark of the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series season, Bowman currently occupies the 11th position in the drivers’ point standings, only 48 points out of the top 10. Owner Robby Benton held steady at 15th position in the Nationwide Series owners’ point standings.
- Rookie Battle… Following Bowman’s 20th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway, he holds down the second position in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year point standings, 57 points behind leader Kyle Larson.
- Toyota Triumph … Toyota Camrys have dominated the last few years of Nationwide Series racing at Loudon. A Toyota driver has won the last four out of five Nationwide Series events here, dating back to June of 2008. Additionally, a Toyota driver won the last Sprint Cup Series race here, as well as the last three Camping World Truck Series races.

“I’m really excited to get back to racing and out of Daytona with a car in one piece. Loudon is a place where I have run before in the K&N East Series. I really enjoy the amount of strategy that is played inside the car to pass and get around cars, and the amount of strategy it takes from the pits to get out front and stay there. This is one of those tracks that presents so many challenges to a driver to get around the flat corners, but also presents a lot of challenges to the crew chief in finding a car setup that will be good in every section of the track. I’m looking forward to getting to the track on Friday for practice and working with my crew chief Chris Rice, because the thing that’s going to allow us to run good and upfront will be the communication between us during the two practice sessions we get in finding a good car setup for Saturday’s race.”

“Loudon is a race track that has more challenges than the normal ovals we go to during the year. It’s a mile in distance so it’s considered a short track, flat corners all the way through so brakes will be very important on corner entry. Once we get the car slowed down, the most important thing to a car running fast lap times is the speed at which a driver can turn and rotate through the long flat corners, and find enough traction in the rear tires so that the driver doesn’t spin the tires coming off the corner. If that wasn’t enough it’s very difficult to pass at Loudon, so as a crew chief there’s a lot of different strategies we’ll have to play to keep our driver upfront and out of trouble. With all that said it’s a track I really enjoy going to because there’s so many different elements that the team has to battle throughout the course of a day.”
