19th Annual Evening for Race Fans with Bill Elliott

The Celina-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce is very proud to announce that Bill Elliott will be the featured guest at the 19th Annual Evening for Race Fans.  For the 13th consecutive year, “Radio Voice of the Indy 500”, Mike King will serve as the MC. This year’s event will again take place at Romer’s Banquet Facility in St. Henry, Ohio on Friday, November 22nd.

Elliott was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America on August 15, 2007.   He won the 1988 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Championship and has garnered 44 wins in that series. He had two Daytona 500 victories, and a record four consecutive wins at Michigan International Speedway during 1985-86. He holds the track record for fastest qualifying speed at Talladega at 212.809 mph and Daytona International Speedway at 210.364 mph Both of these were set in 1987. The mark at Talladega is the fastest speed for any NASCAR event ever.  Elliott won NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver Award 16 times.  He is sure to have many entertaining stories of his very successful career.

This fantastic evening provides intriguing and great racing stories as the guests spend time on the stage with Mike King. Mike has the knack of bringing out insightful and colorful answers from our guests regarding their own careers, other competitors and the sport of auto racing. Whether you are a diehard or just a casual race fan you will be entertained.  You will also be provided an opportunity for autographs and partake in a great buffet dinner prepared by the staff at Romer’s Catering.

This event serves as a fundraiser with over $190,000 raised for the Chamber, State of the Heart Hospice, and Community Health Professionals Hospice over the past 18 years.

The evening includes:

  • Autograph session with Bill Elliott
  • Buffet dinner
  • Driver interviews conducted by Mike King
  • Race memorabilia auction
