Tommy Baldwin Racing: Reed Sorenson Pre-Race
Notes and Quotes
This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is taking over Sin City for the Kobalt 400 on Sunday, March 9th.
Starting the weekend festivities off early, the NCSC teams will be participating in a full day of testing on Thursday. Following practice on Friday, NASCAR will be implementing their new “group” qualifying format. Similar to last weekend in Phoenix, the drivers will be given timed segments to record their fastest lap. Since LVMS is a 1.5 mile track, there will be three timed segments, with the last being the Top 12 competing for the Coors Light Pole Award.
At the track: Reed Sorenson will be at the Chevy Display on Sunday at 9 a.m. for a Q&A.
Reed Sorenson on heading to Vegas: “I am excited to be heading out to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. We will have a full day of testing at the track on Thursday, which will definitely help out everyone on this No. 36 team. We are still learning and growing together as a new team. Hopefully this weekend we will get a good finish and continue the momentum from Daytona.”
Crew Chief Todd Parrott’s keys to the race: “Track position is key at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We need to have lots of speed, get a good drive off the corner, and be able to get through the bumps in Turn 1. Today’s test will be very crucial for us. We will get to work on the balance of the race car and make sure that we have everything ready for this Sunday.”
