Now with two Top-Five finishes after the first six races, Marcos Ambrose is off to his best start in his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career. His start has placed him 14th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings and in position to make the post-season.
This weekend the No. 9 STANLEY Ford team head to the Texas Motor Speedway with Ambrose making his 12th start at the track. He has one top-10 result at the track, but Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) has made tremendous strides in its downforce program this year giving Ambrose a better chance at another Top-10 result this weekend. The team will bring a new chassis to the track.
Ambrose, Richard Petty Motorsports and STANLEY will also host 14 STANLEY Distributors from across Latin America this weekend. These Distributors, coming from Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Brazil, the Caribbean and Central America, will be hosted, meet Ambrose and cheer for the No. 9 race team. “Our great start is a testament to the hard work that Richard Petty Motorsports has done over the off-season and have continued to do at the start of this year. The team has put more money into the race program, and it’s paying off. Our cars are faster and, overall, we’re a better team. It’s easier for us to get better results this year because our cars are improved.
“The mile-and-a-half tracks are important in this Series. We have a new chassis that we’re running this weekend, and it’s going to be important that we continue to learn as much as possible. We were fast at California, and I feel that we have improved from Vegas. Our STANLEY team has confidence, and we want to run Top-10 all day on Sunday.”
