(Mooresville, NC – April 29, 2014) Following his third consecutive win of the season, Grant Enfinger and Team BCR will make their second start together at Talladega Superspeedway for the annual International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200. Enfinger will go into the race with an 80-point advantage over 10-Time Champion, Frank Kimmel.
Season Recap: Enfinger made ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards history last weekend when he earned his 3rd consecutive win of the season at Salem Speedway. The only other driver to do so was back in 1970. Team BCR and Enfinger won the season opener at Daytona International Speedway, their second win together at Mobile International Speedway and then another win at Salem Speedway.
Chassis: Team BCR will bring chassis CP-2 to Talladega Superspeedway. This is the same winning car the team brought to Daytona earlier this season.
History at Talladega: Team BCR and Enfinger left Talladega last season disappointed. The No. 90 led four laps of the race in 2013, but Enfinger was involved in an incident with another car, sending him back to 16th. The race was then shortened due to rain, and the team was unable to make up the spots lost.
Marketing Partners: Team BCR and Enfinger will welcome MCG Contracting as an Associate Marketing Partner on the No. 90 Ford Fusion. MCG Contracting Group has provided quality personnel to the marine and industrial construction industries since 2004. The contracting group is located in Mobile, AL, where they effectively provide the most qualified and professional employees nationwide. Motor Honey/Casite and Advance Auto Parts will serve as the Primary Marketing Partners along with Associate Marketing Partners, Triple K Construction, Wurth USA and Stanley Industries.
Meet Grant Enfinger: Grant Enfinger and his teammate, Justin Allison, will attend the Race Fever event on Friday, May 2 at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. The event benefits the Alabama Institute of the Deaf and Blind. At 5pm, Enfinger and Allison will do an on-stage interview with MRN’s Steve Post, and then will sign autographs for the children of the institute, as well as other attendees. A silent auction will also take place during the annual event.
Team Manager, Howard Bixman: “Talladega is going to be much different this time around. With three consecutive wins, we have been working hard to keep the momentum we currently have this season. ARCA has changed the qualifying procedures. Instead of going out for a single car run, we’ll be going out in groups based on practice times. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Either way, we plan on bringing an even better car than what we had at Daytona.”
Q & A with Grant Enfinger
Being that you’ve won the first three races of the year and had one of the best cars out there at Talladega in 2013, what do you think your chances are of picking up another win this season?
“I think we have a pretty high chance,” says Enfinger. “We have a really strong superspeedway program this year, and that showed at Daytona. We’re bringing the same exact car; just making some changes to it for Talladega. We also had a really fast car at Talladega last year, leading a few laps of the race. So, I think we’ll have another good shot at this. Howard and the crew have provided me with great cars this year and our results show that.”
