MB MOTORSPORTS RETURNS TO CHARLOTTE: MB Motorsports driver Justin Jennings is set to make his first start at Charlotte Motor Speedway, NASCAR’s original mile and a half track. Jennings will once again be behind the wheel of the Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool Chevy Silverado. “I’m really looking forward to the NC Education Lottery 200 this Friday,” says Jennings. “After what we went through last weekend, I can’t get to Charlotte fast enough.”
Team owner Mike Mittler explains, “Last time out we had to go to a back up truck which handled nowhere as well as our primary. Then, in the first wreck of the night, Justin made a great move to avoid the wreckage but then got hit by another truck. The damage didn’t appear to be too severe, however, carbon monoxide got into the truck and Justin found himself in a hyperbaric chamber after the race. The fact that he managed to come home in 16th is a testament to how tough this kid is.”
Crew chief Doug George will again be atop the pit box. “We were really looking forward to Kansas, then Murphy’s Law took over. And yet somehow, Justin managed a good finish in a truck that was definitely not Top 20 material. With that behind us, though, I’m excited to move on to Charlotte.”
“Doug has had a lot of success at Charlotte as a crew chief, including a win, ” adds Mittler. “I believe in his first four races as crew chief there, he led teams to finishes no worse than 11th, so I feel pretty comfortable with him calling the shots for Justin on Friday night,”
Jennings adds “We’ve got LG SEEDS and Excel Bottling back with us and we’re also supporting Eagle Rock Camp, which is a rehabilitative camp for wounded warriors located only about 30 miles from the speedway in Denver, NC, so we want to do what we can for them.”
