Driver Says Teams Chase Evolution of Repaved Track as It Ages
STATESVILLE, SEPT. 30, 2014 – David Ragan, driver of the No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford, comments on racing at Kansas Speedway:
“Kansas is another track that’s been changing since it was repaved. I’m looking forward to see how it’s different from how it was six or eight months ago. It was very much like Chicagoland until the repave. Now it races more like a Charlotte or a Michigan. With that fresh pavement, it’s got a lot of grip, a lot of banking and a lot of speed.”Kansas City is a cool area. They’ve got some good places to eat and some cool events going on. I’ve stopped by the American Royal a few times and walked around. It’s an awesome set-up. It’s almost like a combination of spring break and Mardi Gras with everybody cooking and hanging out. It’s cool that it ties into the NASCAR race weekend and hopefully some of those folks hanging out there also come over to the racetrack.”
JUST THE FACTS: Ragan has 11 Sprint Cup career starts at Kansas Speedway … He has one top-10, two top-15 and six top-20 finishes at the 1.5-mile track … His best finish at Kansas is eighth (2008) … Dockside Logistics returns as primary sponsor of the No. 34 Ford.
