Clint Bowyer No. 15 Pink Lemonade 5-hour ENERGY Benefiting Living Beyond Breast Cancer Toyota

PAINTING THE TOWN PINK

CORNELIUS, N.C. — The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Kansas Speedway this weekend for the culmination of a “super week” of sports in the area. The colors red and blue have painted the town since the Chiefs Monday Night Football win and a dramatic Royals game that put them in the American League Division Series. Clint Bowyer would like nothing more than to paint the town pink with a win at the 1.5-mile oval.

It’s not the normal colors fans expect to see from Bowyer but this weekend his No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota will sport a pink and white paint scheme to support the company’s program with Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC).  Now through the end of the year, five cents from the sale of every bottle of a limited edition, specially marked pink lemonade flavor of 5-hour ENERGY will go to the national nonprofit. The organization’s mission is to provide trusted information and a community of support to individuals affected by breast cancer, their families, caregivers and medical professionals.

The minimum guaranteed donation is $200,000.

“5-hour ENERGY’s breast cancer awareness program with LBBC provides funds for a fantastic organization, and I’m thrilled to help support the cause,” said Bowyer.  “Now go buy Pink Lemonade so we can give even more money this year!”

Bowyer’s pink car also runs at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 11th and Talladega Superspeedway on October 19th. A name of someone currently battling or who has survived breast cancer will be featured above the right side window. This week Holly Cain, a motorsports journalist currently battling breast cancer, will be featured.

“I’m extremely honored to represent the thousands affected by this disease who appreciate the awareness Clint and his sponsor are bringing to our fight,” said Cain.

In 2013, Living Essentials’ contribution of $344,269.20 and the exposure provided as part of a national advertising campaign significantly impacted LBBC’s ability to expand the scope of their services and provide thousands of individuals with free educational resources and support services.  Calls to LBBC’s toll-free Helpline doubled from the previous year, and more than 41,000 Guides to Understanding Breast Cancer, publications that describe and provide insight on topics such as diagnosis, treatment, recovery or disease management, were distributed at no charge. In addition, over 200,000 people visited lbbc.org for information and to connect with others sharing their experiences.

“5-hour ENERGY and the NASCAR program introduced LBBC to millions of people and we are thrilled to again be partnering with an organization that believes so strongly in our vision of a world where no one impacted by breast cancer feels uninformed or alone,” said Kevin Gianotto, LBBC’s associate director of marketing and corporate partnerships. “The joy of working with the 5-hour ENERGY team is their commitment to LBBC’s work to help those in need.”
