CASSILL 17th AT ATLANTA

HAMPTON, Ga. – Landon Cassill scored a 17th-place finish in Saturday’s Hisense 250 Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Cassill, driving the Flex Seal Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, started 27th and moved quickly through the field, riding as high as 12th on a day in which the groove was narrow and passing was difficult.

The top 20 pushed Cassill to 18th in the Xfinity Series point standings, a gain of five spots.

“We had a pretty good car, but it was hard to make progress out there,” Cassill said. “But we got back on our feet after a tough week in Daytona, and we’re ready to move on to Vegas.”

The series’ next race is March 7 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Sprint Cup invader Kevin Harvick won the race, leading 101 of the 163 laps. Chris Buescher and Ty Dillon are tied for the Xfinity point lead.
