ADVANCE NOTES

Sadler at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Elliott Sadler will make his ninth NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) this Saturday afternoon. In Sadler’s previous eight starts, he recorded two top-five and three top-10 finishes at LVMS. Sadler won the pole award in 2012 and has led 26 laps at LVMS.

The veteran driver also has 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at LVMS with one top-10 finish and 24 laps led.

In Sadler’s previous eight starts, he’s only finished outside the top-15 once.

Last Week’s Race

Sadler finished in 18th place during Saturday’s NXS race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Sadler started the race in the 14th position and moved into the top-10 within the first few laps. Sadler’s luck quickly shifted in the opposite direction when his car began to overheat from a tear off that stuck to his front grille. This was followed with a pit road penalty and in the closing 40 laps of the race, Sadler was forced him to come down for an unscheduled pit stop after being sideswiped by another car. After being pushed back to the 22nd position, Sadler worked his way forward and crossed the finish line in the 18th position.

XFINTIY Driver Points Standings

Following last week’s race, Sadler moved forward one position from 12th to 11th in the NXS Driver Points Standings. After two races, Sadler is 32 points behind the leader.

This Race Last Year

Last year, Sadler started the Las Vegas race from the 13th position. With a loose handling car, Sadler shuffled backwards in the beginning laps of the race. Mid-race adjustments helped the cars handling and Sadler was able to work his way back up to his original starting position. Sadler finished the race in the 13th position.

Race Coverage

Coverage for this week’s NXS race will be on FOX Sports 1 at 4:00PM ET.

QUOTE WORTHY

Sadler on Racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

“Las Vegas Motor Speedway is always a highlighted venue on our long NASCAR schedule. Besides the competitive racing, Vegas is a great place for the fans to visit too. It can be a test not to stay out too late, but my favorite part about Vegas is definitely the great restaurants. I have my favorite restaurants I visit each year and I’m already craving what I want to order this coming weekend. We had a lot of bad luck happen last week at Atlanta, but we’re all in for good luck to be on our side this Saturday afternoon.”
