Beginning the West Coast Swing…This weekend, Michael Annett embarks on a three-week West Coast swing for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, beginning with Sunday’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Annett and the HScott Motorsports team will then travel to Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Ariz. and Fontana, Calif.’s Auto Club Speedway. Sunday’s Kobalt 400 serves as the lone event among the three on a 1.5-mile track, a track type on which Annett averaged a finish 1.3 positions better than his average finish at all tracks in 2014.
Cypress Associates Makes 2015 Debut…Annett’s Chevrolet SS takes on the purple paint scheme of Cypress Associates, a partner for three of Annett’s races in the fall of 2014, as the Houston, Texas-based company will make its first appearance on the No. 46 car this season with its CypressHQ brand.
Top 20 in the Point Standings…Thanks to a 21st-place average finish through the first two races of the 2015 season, Annett currently sits 20th in the Cup Series point standings, a mere four points out of Chase contention.

“It should be a lot warmer this weekend than it was last weekend (in Atlanta), so even though those two tracks are similar, the handling should be way different. From where I sat, a lot of cars struggled with handling in this race last year, so it’s important to make sure that we stay on top of that in practice.”
