CASSILL ROLLS INTO VEGAS

LAS VEGAS – Landon Cassill is ready to hit it big in Las Vegas.

Cassill will drive the G&K Services 01 Chevrolet in Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, one of the fastest tracks on the circuit.

“Everything about Vegas is fast, so I guess it makes sense that the track is, too,” Cassill said. “I like the track and the way the Xfinity cars handle there. We’re looking forward to making a good run at it.”

Cassill has finishes of 31st and 17th in the first two races of the season and sits 18th in Xfinity points. His effort in the first race at Daytona International Speedway was dampened by a crash in qualifying, causing a move to a backup car.

“We’re kind of digging out of a little hole after Daytona,” Cassill said. “But you never know what’s going to happen on the plate tracks. Vegas is more to our liking.”

Practice for the 300 is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying is set for 12:45 p.m. Saturday, to be followed by the race at 4 p.m.
