ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse Jr. at Michigan International Speedway

Stenhouse Jr. has four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at Michigan International Speedway with an average starting position of 19.2 and average finishing position of 19.2.

The 2013 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year also has three XFINITY starts earning one top-five and one top-10 finish.

One Year Ago at Michigan

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was involved in a lap six accident damaging the right rear fender of his No. 17 Ford. The two-time NASCAR XFINITY Series champion battled back to take the checkered flag in the 27th position.

In the Points

After three tough weeks, Stenhouse Jr. currently sits 28th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings with 12 races remaining until the Chase.

Fastenal

Fastenal is currently in its fourth season as a primary partner in the NSCS for Roush Fenway. They spent three years on the No. 99 before jumping over to the No. 17 entry, and were the primary partner on the No. 60 XFINITY team that captured the owner’s championship in 2011.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Michigan:

“Michigan is a place where as an organization we want to have a strong run since it is in the backyard of Ford and Roush Industries. We have had some bad luck the past three weekends so we really need to get a solid finish this weekend to start working our way back up in the point standings. Our cars have been improving each weekend so I’m looking forward to this weekend.”

Sandler on racing at Michigan:

“We need a weekend where we don’t have any issues. The past three weekends have been tough because our No. 17 Ford has been fast but we didn’t get the finishes we deserved. Michigan usually comes down to a strategy race so hopefully this is the weekend our No. 17 team bounces back and we can leave Michigan with a solid finish.”
