This Chevrolet SS was built new for the 2015 season and has been utilized three times so far, with Dillon earning a 20th-place finish at Michigan International Speedway in June, a 22nd-place finish at Kansas Speedway in May and a 20th-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway in April.

American Ethanol, a renewable source of cleaner burning energy from the bounty of America’s farmers, helps create new green jobs and a renewed sense of pride for the American worker, while helping to achieve greater energy security for our country. Launched by Growth Energy and the National Corn Growers Association, along with the support of other partners, American Ethanol is a breakthrough brand that seeks to expand consumer awareness of the benefits of ethanol and E15, and takes the NASCAR Green initiative to the next level. Dirt Trackin’ … Prior to arriving at Pocono Raceway, Dillon is scheduled to race his dirt late model for Team Dillon Racing at Boyd’s Speedway in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Tuesday. To keep with his progress on Twitter, follow @teamdillonracin.

Get to the Points … Dillon ranks 19th in the championship point standings leading into the Windows 10 400.

In the Rear View … Dillon earned a 25th-place finish in the Jeff Kyle 400 at the Brickyard last week after earning his way back onto the lead lap following two pass through penalties for speeding on pit road.

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:
What did you learn at Pocono Raceway back in June that you can use when we go this weekend?
“We had a really fast RCR alliance teammate there in June with Martin Truex Jr., he won the race. We’ll be shifting a lot as usual. It’s the same ol’ Pocono. You just have to try and get as much speed going in a straight line with a little turn ability.”

A lot of people say you need to compromise a turn at Pocono Raceway. How do you prefer to get around there?
“It’s really tough. Off of turn two, there’s a long straightaway. You can gain a lot going through there. Turns one and three are where I like to make sure we’re running well and have a lot of speed. If you can get through turn two, it sets up three very nicely. It’s just one of those places where if you have good balance, it really rewards you.”

Paul Menard, No. 27 SYLVANIA / Menards Chevrolet SS
Race Notes and Quotes:

This Week’s SYLVANIA / Menards Chevrolet at Pocono Raceway … The No. 27 Richard Childress Racing team is bringing chassis No. 487 back to the track this weekend at Pocono Raceway. This race-proven chassis was utilized earlier this season at Dover International Speedway (Start: 18 / Finish: 8), Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Sprint Showdown (Start: 1 / Finish: 2), Auto Club Speedway (Start: 11 / Finish: 4) and Atlanta Motor Speedway (Start: 13 / Finish: 13).

Tricky Triangle Stats … Menard has participated in 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events at the 2.5-mile, triangle-shaped track which includes five top-10 and three top-three starts. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native has two top-10 finishes and has completed 96.1 percent of laps in competition at Pocono Raceway.

Rookie Stripe … Justin Alexander has impressive stats in his first year as a full-time Sprint Cup Series crew chief. In 25 races with Menard, Alexander has led the team to one top-five, 13 top-15 and 17 top-20 starts. He’s also collected 18 top-20, 15 top-15 and three top-five finishes. Alexander is also the first three-time winner of the MOOG Problem Solver of the Race award this season.

Where Do You Stand … Menard sits 13th in the Sprint Cup Series driver point standings and currently holds the 14th position in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Grid with six races remaining before the chase begins in September.

Last Time in Pocono … Paul Menard started 16th and drove the No. 27 Chevy SS to a 31st-place finish at Pocono Raceway after a pit road violation and cut-down tire thwarted a strong finish.

PAUL MENARD QUOTE:
What are your thoughts as we head back to Pocono Raceway?
“I enjoy going to Pocono Raceway. It’s a challenging and distinctive track. We’re used to having four corners almost every weekend and only having three at Pocono changes things up. All the corners are very unique, so you have to approach each one differently. Pocono also has very long straightaways, so we carry a lot of speed going into the corners. We had a decent Menards Chevrolet earlier in the year, but had some bad luck with several pit road penalties and a tire going down early in the race. Hopefully we have some better luck this weekend. I know Justin (Alexander, crew chief) and the guys will be working hard this week.”

Ryan Newman, No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet SS
Race Notes and Quotes:

This Week’s Caterpillar Chevrolet Chevrolet SS at Pocono Raceway … Ryan Newman will drive chassis No. 491 in the Windows 10 400. This Chevrolet was utilized earlier this season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Start: 9/Finish: 5) and Pocono Raceway (Start: 13/Finish: 39).

Newman at the Tricky Triangle … Newman will make his 497th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start when the Series returns to the 2.5-mile raceway this weekend. In 27 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events at Pocono, Newman drove to victory lane in the second summer event of 2003. The “Rocket Man” also owns two pole awards. In total, he’s recorded nine top-five and 14 top-10 finishes. He has led 184 laps in competition. The South Bend, Ind., native has an average start of 10.8 and average finish of 12.4. In the last 10 races at the Pennsylvania track, the RCR driver ranks sixth in most points earned. Newman’s first ever ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start came at Pocono Raceway in 2000 where he started on the outside pole and won the race.

Get to the Points … Newman started from the back to finish 11th in Sunday’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The finish places Newman 12th in the championship point standings and 13th in the Chase Grid with six races remaining before the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship begins.

Last Time Around at Pocono … The South Bend, Ind., driver started 13th, raced into the top five by lap 50 and cruised comfortably in the top 10 at halfway of the 188-mile event. Shortly after a restart on lap 139, a competitor made contact with Newman while he raced in 10th place. The damage sustained by the wreck was too much to overcome, forcing the Grainger team to the garage and a 39th-place finish.

RYAN NEWMAN QUOTE:
What are your thoughts on returning to Pocono Raceway?
“I feel like we have unfinished business at Pocono Raceway. We left that track back in June with a wrecked car and a finish not indicative to the quality of car we had. We were on pace for a top-five finish before the accident. Now having Luke (crew chief – Lambert) and the guys back with us, I feel confident we can be a contender there. I like our chances this weekend.”

BRIAN SCOTT QUOTES:
Does it build your confidence going into Iowa Speedway having just finished fourth there in May?
“Iowa Speedway is a fun track because it’s a stand-alone race each time we go there. And it’s a track where an XFINITY Series regular is typically going to win it. And, with this No. 2 team being one of the top contenders on the XFINTIY side week in and week out, it seems to lead us to believe it could be a great place where we can go out and win. We’ve had really strong runs there in the past, it’s an exciting race and I’m looking forward to going back to Iowa. The fans always show up and really support the Series. It’s nice to race in the heartland and in the cornfields surrounded by fans that love racing.

Is there a different feel in XFINTIY stand-alone events?
“Yeah, I think so. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers kind of turn the wick up a little bit. You always seem to end up watching their cars because they’re the fastest on a short run and the long run. You’re constantly comparing yourself to them. When they’re not there, it seems a little more laid back. You have a couple different people that you feel like you’re racing for the win. Still, this XFINITY Series is really strong and there is a lot of competition. XFINTIY Series drivers have gone out and won when there have been Sprint Cup drivers in the field, so you still have to beat the XFINITY Series guys. The XFINTIY Series is tough competition.”

TY DILLON QUOTE:
How will Iowa Speedway be different this time around?
“I’ve had some success in the past at Iowa Speedway but this time it will be a little different with a new crew chief (Nick Harrison) and team. Iowa is a track where I think we can really make some noise, especially with the momentum we have after these last two races in New Hampshire and Indianapolis. Right now, we’re focused on gaining ground in the point standings and we’ll continue doing that by not making mistakes. I enjoy short-track racing, so this weekend should be fun.”

BRANDON JONES QUOTE:
In your first NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Iowa Speedway, you finished eighth. What are your thoughts heading back there with the No. 33 team?
“I’m excited to head back to Iowa Speedway this weekend with the FVP/Menards team. We ran really well there in May when I made my Series debut. I learned a lot and have a lot more confidence going back there this weekend. I haven’t had a chance to work with Danny (Stockman, crew chief), but I think we’ll work well together. The No. 33 team has been fast and won another race since I was in the car, so it’s pretty exciting to be heading back to Iowa Speedway this weekend.”

After a top-10 finish during the first visit, what are your thoughts on returning to Iowa Speedway?
“I have always been told by Rusty (Wallace) that I have to like Iowa Speedway. That is never an issue for me because I truly enjoy racing there. The fans love it and we are always able to put on a great race for them. The track itself has a lot of character because it has bumps and asphalt that has changed over the years. So it is a track that I love with multiple grooves, is super fast and runs like a speedway.”
