Buescher at Watkins Glen International
Roush Fenway Racing’s Chris Buescher will make his second NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Watkins Glen International this weekend. In his previous start, which came last season, Buescher qualified 12th, but was forced to start at the back of the field after an engine change. Buescher patiently worked his way into the top-10, before a mechanical issue and contact with a competitor relegated the No. 60 to a 29th-place finish.
In three NASCAR XFINITY Series starts at road courses, Buescher has one win. He earned his first career XFINITY victory at a road course last season. He qualified fifth and led 25 laps at Mid-Ohio Sports Car course, finishing first.
Buescher has five road course starts in the ARCA Racing Series, earning one win (Road America; 2013) and three top-fives, while leading 17 laps.
Buescher will make his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start this weekend, racing the No. 34 Ford Fusion for Front Row Motorsports. The start marks Buescher’s first Sprint Cup race at a road course.
On the Car
The No. 60 Mustang carries the Ford EcoBoost colors this weekend at Watkins Glen International. Ford EcoBoost technology combines smaller overall size with turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing to bring customers outstanding performance and fuel economy.
Recapping Iowa Speedway
Buescher had a strong Salted Nut Roll Ford Mustang in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Iowa Speedway. The defending winner raced towards the front of the pack for the majority of the night, before suffering a flat tire late in the race, finishing 13th.
