Bayne at Michigan

Bayne will make his 10th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Michigan this weekend.

In nine previous starts at the two-mile oval, Bayne has recorded one top-10 finish, a ninth in the June 14 event earlier this season.

In five starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series in the Motor City, Bayne earned two top-five and two top-10 finishes, with a best finish of fifth twice in 2011 and 2013.

Bob Osborne at Michigan

Osborne will call his 19th NSCS race at Michigan on Sunday. In 18 previous starts, Osborne has recorded two wins, eight top-fives, 12 top-10s and has an average finish of 9.6.

Osborne’s two victories at Michigan came in the spring of 2007 and in the summer of 2008 with former Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards.

Recapping Watkins Glen

Bayne improved 12 positions from the start of the race and battled through a variety of pit strategies to earn a 22nd-place finish at Watkins Glen International.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing in Michigan:

“Michigan will be interesting this weekend. We’ve got the rules package we used in Indy here and the racing will definitely be something to keep an eye on. I’m looking forward to getting on the track on Friday with this AdvoCare Ford and seeing how our car will be. We got a top-10 here in the spring and hopefully we can build off that and improve our finish a couple of spots better on Sunday.”
