LEXINGTON, Ohio – Ross Chastain stormed forward from a 32nd-place starting spot to score a 19th-place finish in Saturday’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Chastain raced as high as 18th after starting far back on the grid.

“It was a long day after starting so far back, but we turned it around and had a good finish,” Chastain said. “It seems like we passed several dozen cars, but the car was good. Not a bad afternoon.”

Chastain continued his strong run through his first season, staying in 14th in Xfinity driver points.

Regan Smith won the race with a last-turn pass, and Chris Buescher kept the point lead.

The series moves on to Bristol, Tenn., for an Aug. 21 race.
