NASCAR and Atlanta Motor Speedway track officials made the decision Saturday morning to move up the start time for Sunday’s Monster Energy Cup Series race due to impending inclement weather. The Accu-Weather forecast shows an 80 percent chance of rain during the day and a 67 percent chance of rain Sunday night.

While most of the Daytona 500 headlines will focus on Austin Dillon’s win in the iconic No. 3, runner-up Darrell Wallace Jr. quietly captured the hearts of NASCAR fans everywhere as his emotions overwhelmed him after the race.

NASCAR heads to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend with all three national series as the Playoffs continue. The Truck Series hits the track Friday for the JAG Metals 350 followed by the XFINITY Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 Saturday night. The Cup Series closes out the action Sunday at 2 p.m. on NBCSN with the AAA Texas 500.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Martinsville Speedway this weekend for the first race in the Round of 8. The track has been a part of the Playoffs since its inception in 2004. Five times the driver who won this race has gone on to claim the championship trophy.

The Truck Series Texas Roadhouse 200 will air on FS1 Saturday afternoon and the Cup Series First Data 500 will be broadcast on NBCSN Sunday at 3 p.m.
