An early multi-car wreck during the Virginia529 College Savings 250 at Richmond International Speedway took Benny Gordon and Performance Energy Group out of the race during the first lap.
Perseverance paid off for Bubba Wallace Friday night at Richmond International Raceway. Wallace qualified his No. 6 Roush Performance Mustang 32nd after struggling with handling in a rain shortened practice session. Despite starting at the back Wallace worked his way forward, overcoming a pit road penalty for a crew member over the wall too soon to earn a 14th-place finish under the lights at Richmond.
Roush Fenway Racing’s Elliott Sadler finished 24th during Friday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) race at Richmond International Raceway. The No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang started on the sixth row, in the 12th position on Friday night for the 250 lap event.

It was also Elliott's first win at RIR, who managed to hold off a late surge from a determined Kyle Busch down the stretch.
