Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, received the free pass back onto the lead lap on Lap 98 and drove his way into the top 10 before ultimately earning a 13th-place finish on Saturday evening in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Kentucky Speedway.
The Sprint Cup Series headed to Kentucky Speedway with a new rules package. Rain shortened testing and practice time for the teams, but a relief came from the weather in time to trade in qualifying for a 90 minute final practice. Biffle started 27th based on the first practice session and in the early stages of the race had a fast Ortho Ford, but as the track rubbered up his handling faded. Multiple changes kept Biffle on the lead lap the entire 267 laps, coming home 16th.

After running solidly in the top-three for a number of laps, Martin Truex Jr.'s Furniture Row Chevrolet suffered aerodynamic damage, causing it to fall out of contention in Saturday night's Quaker State 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway. The end result for the Furniture Row Racing driver was a 17th-place finish.
Jeff Gordon led the way for Team Chevy with a seventh-place finish in his No. 24 AARP Member Advantages Chevrolet SS in the Quaker State 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway. With a new rules package in place and limited practice time due to inclement weather, the Bowtie Brigade took four of the Top 10 finishing positions in the 267-lap/400 mile event on the unique 1.5-mile Tri Oval.

Electrical problems forced Harrison Rhodes to the garage after only 90 laps of Friday night’s Kentucky 300, and he finished 35th in the Kentucky Speedway race.
In four NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts at Watkins Glen International (WGI) Spire Motorsports earned its lone top-10 finish when Sammy Smith finished sixth in last year’s Mission 176 at the Glen.
